    >Tastes amazing on it's own
    to each his own
    >Can be cooked in 20 minutes
ideally you want to soak them though to reduce oligosaccharides
    >Replaces the need for brown rice or potatoes
apples to oranges comparison, not sure they're that easy to eat a lot of. bloating can be real and the taste is mediocre
    >Biblical characters tried to kill each other over them
    don't care
all in all it's for vegan food but 'd rather have quality protein with rice / taters, thank you

      >bloating can be real
I eat them every day and don't have any issues with bloating. If you eat legumes on a somewhat regularly, that you should be able to tolerate them.
      >quality protein with rice / taters
Lentils have a higher protein count and provides a wider variety of amino acids. Any gaps are filled by the meat you pair it with.

        >Lentils have a higher protein count and provides a wider variety of amino acids.
eating anything that's not meat specifically for the protein content is pretty stupid tbh. Like pretty much all beans lentils have a ~2:1 carb to protein ratio and it's not even complete on it's own so you have to eat some whole grain, aka more carbs, to complete it.

Most of the world's lentils are grown in Canada, and that's just not something I can support.

I'm new to lentils. I tried cooking them like navy beans or black beans with a soak + simmer for as long as I cook everything else. Taste was okay but felt like I definitely overcooked it.
    What's the technique?

Soak for 24 hour (people will tell you it's not needed but it will increase the nutrition content). Replace the water. Add both or water based on the amount of lentils used. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes

What’s with all the lentil memes lately. Is Big Lentil trying to start a meme campaign? Regardless, I’m on board. Lentils are a great staple to add to your diet

People are slowly being priced out of meat, and looking for high-protein filler that isn't soi.
Rice and beans is the obvious choice, but people got to comparing and it turns out lentils just flat out have better macros than brown rice.

Meanwhile, shills continue to make threads about huel and veganslop.

Just wait until they put heavy taxes (like they do with tobaco and alcohol) on every animal related food because "it's not eco-friendly". Shit is gonna get triple expensive on the next 5-10 years.

Meats will never fully go away, because bugs aren't kosher and getting rid of brisket would be anti-semitic.
Raising your own hens for eggs would be an option for those with space.
