    it's not either of those.

it's our willingness to harm our own long term prospects for short term profit.

the way we're living makes us the most dominant life form on the planet, and also will inevitably cause us to go extinct after which that'll all be meaningless.

because we are cursed by our own wisdom

we have dominion over the planet yet we choose to dominate each other

because we are not perfect, we are flawed, we are only mortal animals with animal instincts

if we were perfect, society would be perfect, but the rich and powerful basically live like lions, ensnaring and exploiting weaker animals to grow rich, as rich men and tyrants

The huge six legged animal majority is amused by your hubris, and the stupendously vast microorganism majority is too busy running your literal organs to give a crap what the ego that thinks its running the show that is your body thinks.

I believe this is tied to how short human lifespans are. If we lived just a little bit longer, we'd be alive to see the pitfalls of the lying and greed that we partake in to get power and money and status. But as it stands, we don't live long enough to see the consequences of our short term familial gains. We die before we get fricked over from the things we did (on a societal level).

There is no proof that persistence hunting is possible.
We're at the top of the food chain because we use projectile weapons. Even the dumbest nogs in African know how to make bows.

You clearly haven't read the book, you fricking moron. You injure the animal first with a weapon or a rock and THEN you run it to exhaustion.

Hunters didn't run after their prey for miles, dumbass. We learned their lifestyles, made weapons, tracked them down, and attacked at their most vulnerable states.

Actually it’s our ability to throw and use tools (pointy rock on a stick, etc.)
Earth was an evolutionary arms race we came out on top by learning how to throw rocks

Human endurance and ability to throw isn't enough to put us at the top of the food chain.
Humans didn't actually become dominant until we started making proper flint tipped projectiles like atlatl darts and bow & arrow.
