I accepted I wasn't going to make it a long time ago, and now I feel better. It's not fun forcing yourself to be something you're not or do something you obviously weren't going to stick with/do.

A large percentage of people rarely stick with their new year resolution at the start of each year, whether it's losing weight, giving up cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc. Motivation and willpower are hard things to acquire, and I wasn't an athletic normalgay kid growing up in high school either, so I wasn't introduced to that environment at a younger age. All I wanted to do was sit inside and play video games and watch anime, and all my friends were fat weebs who hated sports.

It still would be in your best interest to do some kind of exercise. Don't want to die early or develop lifestyle diseases. Maybe some kind of resistance cardio that's fun like boxing or rock climbing. You don't have to force yourself beyond once or twice a week to maintain your health and have fun

But IST told me I need to exercise everyday

Lol No. An hour once or twice per week will do it if you just don't want to die early

I have a physically active job, is that good enough? I'm on my feet, walking back and forth, and lifting stuff like 6-8 hours a day.

                Anonymous

That's definitely enough. Someone like you only needs to go to the gym if you want to build a certain body type. Being that physically active will keep you healthy without anything extra

Well, my diet is trash so I imagine that's why I'm not as skinny as I should be. I need to really just focus on what I eat, but it's tough, I've always been addicted to fast food/junk food and trash. I know that's my issue, not so much being physically active.

So what? I'm the same as you except I also didn't eat enough as a child so I have thin bones and bad muscle building genetics. If you want to make it you're going to have to work harder than other people to get the same results. It's not ideal but I can't keep looking like this

Christ man you're pathetic. You could have just quit without posting about it. This place is for people who do want to be fit, so take your gay anime revelation elsewhere. Exercise was hard at first and annoying but i had to experiment with what worked or didn't work for me until I found a routine i enjoyed but also actually helped me start to get results. Following cookie cutter shit can fail because what works for others may not work for you. You come up with a simple, achievable goal and go after it. For you, maybe get an under the desk cycle pedals or whatever so you can at least play your video games and get some sort of exercise.

        >whether it's losing weight, giving up cigarettes,

I've done both of these things, after a decade of being a fat smoker.

        >Motivation and willpower are hard things to acquire

No, they're not. You are plenty "motivated" to play videogames and watch anime, much in the same way those who lift are "motivated" to do so. It has NOTHING to do with "willpower", or "motivation", but a change in your mindset. A change in your lifestyle, the drive to create a new habit, a new routine for your own betterment. Your current life is a product of your habits and routine, it's a matter of changing them.

You never changed them, you simply tried to tack on temporary fixes to what you see as shortcomings in your life. You never changed your mindset, you never tried to look at yourself in any other way than how you currently do.

There's a reason "fake it 'till you make it" works. It's because it forces you to adopt a new way to look at yourself, and prove that you are capable of change. You ARE capable, but will you do it? Probably not, but you only have yourself to prove anything to.

    >$45 a month to put you above 90% of the population, ensure your health, and give you something to do on days you're bored/unmotivated
I pay $14 biweekly for my gym and I'm there at least 7 hours a week

Good on you, I've been going to the gym for 2 years and while I enjoy lifting I feel like I only do it because I'm doing it on autopilot, wake up, go to the gym, do my routine, go home, lay down and rot. At this point may just skip to the last part straight ahead after waking up.

yeah man getting into gym is unironically hard if you dont have gym buds to workout with. Solo grinding gains is tedious, unless you do it outside when its nice or in your home where you dont have to deal with the embarassment and self concious issues. Getting strong is one of the few things ive never regretted

Similar to Eren you are creating a cage for yourself while seeking your "freedom". Don't be a 3/10 wits ragetard autist who shoots himself in the foot due to your vague ideas of what freedom means. Be better.
