thank you for memeing this into being a “lame exercise”. Now, even when the gym is swamped with poojeets, w*men and dyels I always have a machine that I’m always able to use.
I can, but I've noticed a difference in the two. When I set my weight on the dip machine, it's harder to do than just bodyweight dips. I'm 195 lbs. If doing body weight dips, I do sets of 4x8 sometimes a 5th set at the dip station. But on the seated dip machine, It's so much harder to do 185 lbs which is 10 under my weight. What gives?
I think so, "normal" dips my body and legs are all under me, on the seated dip, I'm in a seated position.
If it were actually harder than doing your bodyweight, you would lift yourself up instead of pushing the weight down.
I haven't gotten to my bodyweight on the seated dip, but probably?
When I'm near bodyweight, I usually have to stand a little bit and push it down to get seated but can then do the dips without coming up off the seat but i have to go slowly.

NTA, but the main thing I dislike about seated dips is that I'm kinda light (155lbs manlet), so I effectively maxed out the machine early because I can't do any more weight without having my body go up instead of my arms pressing down. It's pretty frustrating as I'm quite certain my muscles can handle a heavier loads and that I just lack stability and won't be making up for it any time soon without simply getting fat.
I was doing regular dips and It flared up a bad case ofbiceps tendonitis in my left shoulder, which appears only while doing them on the bars, and on no other exercise.
I tried this exact same machine and weirdly I get not pain at all. I might just switch then

Is this a seated dip machine? LMAO.
What's wrong with the seated dip? The dip station at my gym is always busy, I use the seated dip as it's usually free.
nothing people just hate admitting being wrong
You can't even do bodyweight dips?

Spaghetti arms and shoulders. Betting you can't do a dip off the chair you are sitting right now.
Noticed the same, maybe it's something to do with stricter form on the machine

You're probably not able to use as many muscle groups in the seated position
>does nothing
>destroys your joints
>will kill you
>women will laugh
>gives you ED
>makes your hairline AND jawline recede
>Looks like you're struggling to take a shit
I suck at dips.
Does it have a seat belt or something? How do you not just push yourself up when it's heavy?
You just die

I prefer these over regular dips
I also lift my legs off the ground while I do them to remove any leg drive.
they feel better than real dips tbh, less chance of injury too
