the barbell doesnt tuch my chest during my bench press and ive discovered why - my elbows are straight out from my sides at 90 degrees from my ribs. so when i lower the barbell close to my chest, my elbows are at a 90 degree angle from my ribs and i cant tuch my chest wit barbell

if i tuck in my elbows some i can make the barbell tuch my chest during bench press, but im not gonna bench like that.

            Your bench press is bad because you're doing a guillotine press with partial range of motion. If you want to actually develop your muscles then you need to tuck your arms in and touch the bar to your chest at the sternum.

    tucked elbows (usually 45 degrees from your sides) = easy barbell tuch on chest.

    elbows 90 degrees from sides = barbell cannot tuch chest even if elbows lower well below shoulders
