It doesn't even make a good point. If you like yourself, you'd take care of your body.

The message here is that in the first last panel he declines and says it's because he likes himself but in the second last panel he only says no because he no longer likes himself because he is fat and unhealthy and has made wrong choices and he feels it is too late for him to make it. Like this if you cry every time.

You know it's weird, years ago I used to think that the buff guy in these comics was crazy for doing all that shit when I was younger and fatter and agreed with the sentiment of the lazy skinny dude. Now that I'm fit though I literally do all that shit and love it, expect the kale shake I just drink a protein shake instead. I don't judge anyone for not working out though, shits hard.

yeah largely same, I convinced myself for years I was basically healthy because I wasn't fat. Then I hit my 30s and my metabolism went to shit and I had to get my act together.

        Nice pairs
Fricking comedians, always with their straw men arguments to make jokes when the facts construct a different picture. Enjoy your diabeetus, Carl.

Whenever I'm not in the gym, I read a frickton of manga and prep for D&D games. The idea that fitness costs you other hobbies is the stupidest shit I've seen

The guy is coping. He's intimidated by fit people so he has to construct this narrative in his head that working out for the bare minimum of one-two hours three days a week is such an insane time commitment that it leaves you with no time to do anything else.

I don't think this interaction ever took place, let alone the way the artist is portraying it
