That's why he looks like shit. The lockout and shrug are important parts of the deadlift

Yes. Youre supposed to lockout and shrug your deadlift. Don't tell me you're not activating your traps? You're literally pulling up. Just finish and use the momentum to shrug. It's literally free gains

RDL is only an ass/hamstring exercise just like the normal DL.

Typically it is, but it is possible to increase the upper back stimulus significantly with a few modifications
            >snatch grip
            >shoulder flexion and thoracic flexion at the bottom of the lift (deficit helps a lot here)
            >pause at the bottom of the lift
            >scapula retraction at lockout
            >optionally shrug till failure after set completion
Hamstrings are still the main focus but some diffuse volume to the upper back is never a bad thing tbh

Or you can row like a sane person if you want upper back gains.

No shit retard, tell me where I told you not to do rows? This is for some extra free volume on the side, which is worthwhile since the upper back can take a lot of punishment. Learn about the concept of diffuse volume

You don't know what free means.

And it's still shit at upper back even with those modifications because you'll get little to no upper back gains. Might as well just do an upper back exercise instead and get your volume from things that are actually good for the upper back and keep RDL as the leg day compound that it is.

If you control the negative to get a stretch instead of letting it drop, you can get more posterior chain growth.

Say what you will, as soon as I stopped listening to roidtrannies crying about deadlifts being worthless and ultra dangerous, I absolutely blew up in both size and strength.
But continue to delude DYELs. They'll learn on their own just like I did.

Deadlift is the worst exercise for size and is inferior for total body strength building in comparison to cleans
