          I'm not counting anymore. Lost 25 lbs last year. Gained back 15. Trying to get to 195ish. I try to go to bed hungry ish and increased my cardio and am beginning to lose weight again.

            If you're zig zagging go back to your original diet that you used to lose the weight and add 500 calories.
            Stabilize homie.
            It's better than binge eating 1k+ calories and gaining all the weight back in a few weeks.
            Stick on it for like a week.
            You'll only gain one pound.
            Now start cutting again by removing the 500lbs.

            Hey I am basically your weight rn. I lost 80 lbs and was 160 lbs. But I gained it back after eating like shit once my body had been realized. Now I have to lose it all again. I'm just fasting this time.

            When I was counting calories I only lost 1 lbs per like every 2 weeks. Now I can lose 1 lbs per day.

        If your metabolism slows down, this would ultimately mean you feel full for longer periods of time due to your body's inability to process food faster and then excrete it. You would eat less if your metabolism was actually slow which would also affect your ability to function normally throughout the day.

        Plateaus aren't caused by the metabolism slowing down newbie.
        It's because when you start doing an activity your body is inefficient in the movement.
        So you lose more weight at the start.
        As you do the movement more your body becomes more adapt at the movement and less calories are burned.
        Your body is a machine that wants to finely tune itself to use as little energy as possible to complete a task.

        This is why long distance endurance exercise gays have lower body fat and more lean muscle. Because extra fat == more energy to use in every single movement.
        Unneeded muscle == more energy to use in every single movement.

        Stop equating your body doing what it's suppose to do which is use less energy to you having a slower metabolism.
        If anything your metabolism has become more efficient and is now doing less wasteful things.

    I don't believe it's possible to read the sticky and struggle to lose weight despite serious effort. If you have the knowledge and put in the effort but you aren't losing weight, you are likely subject to one of the following issues:

    1. Poor gut health
    ---If you have a round protruding belly, but the rest of your body is quite toned, you could likely achieve great results from improving your gut microbiome. This is a problem I had, as well as my girl (makes sense cuz we eat most meals together). Kefir, saurkraut, and miso are good things to introduce to your diet. Ryse mushroom coffee worked well for my gf. Her pooch shrunk to less than half what it was before the shroom coffee. It seems good for girls cuz you can still overpay for liquid while gaining identity with an elitist brand (two very important things for women). If you are a guy, just eat fermented foods regularly.

    2. You are forgetting that alcohol is very caloric.
    ---Some people early in their journey get discouraged cuz they're committed and disciplined, they follow the rules, they are conscious of every meal - BUT they neglect to factor in their drinking. Getting drunk racks up the calories like nothing else. You think you can afford two drinks and remain in a deficit cuz you've been good all week, but then those two drinks lower your inhibitions AND distract you from your fitness, so you arent thinking about calories AT ALL as you order more drinks all night, and then smash a pizza when you get home. If you want to party, you have to make up for it.

    3. You aren't being honest to yourself about your diet.
    ---This is not an accusation of foul play. Obesity is caused by mental processes. Many of us became fat due to poor mental habits, like downplaying what and how much we ate. If scenario 1 and 2 didn't apply to you, try rigid calorie counting - you may be surprised!

      You're a fricking idiot, stopped reading right there. Alcohol is zero to negative calories (every fricking scientific paper corroborates this). It takes more energy to metabolize alcohol than is absorbed by the alcohol. It's like celery in that way. Even mildly sugary drinks like rum are still offset by this. The problem is extremely yeasty beers (rare) or if you put the alcohol into some mixed sugary drink.

      You can drink vodka all day and have a negative caloric gain from it.

        Fat cells are not permanent, the body performs natural triage to sustain homeostasis.
        If the resources are not available the fat cells are destroyed via autophagy to sustain the healthy cells of the body.

        You do not need ketosis for this and keto is a fricking meme diet.
        Fat cells like red blood cells can only be create if there is an abundance of nutrients.
        If there isn't, the body doesn't just sit there with 25% full fat cells my newbie.
        It will eat the cell to create healthy fat cells with 50%+ full saturation.
