OH wtf this makes so much sense.
The dry beans have a different protein content per serving size and weight I wondered why. Damn I’ve been overeating the frick out of protein for several months of dry vs canned beans.

don't even bother counting plant protein towards your daily protein macro, count them as carbs/fibre. depending on the bean/grain, anywhere from 50-80% of the protein gets utilized by the body.

if you have dried, raw beans and cook them you would use the bottom number.
100g of raw beans would cook into approx 250-300g after straining the liquid off

I seriously hope you guys aren't straining your beans

3kg of beans to hit protein goals for building muscle. No wonder vegans have such a hard time.
I feel bad for you people

don't soften up and b***h out. harden up and bean out. you should be eating that many beans as a meat eater, vegans should be eating 5-6 kg a day.

Reminder that unless you are talking about meat, the amount of ''protein'' a food has is completely irrelevant and mostly arbitrary made up nonsense.
A fricking bean doesn't have a single gram of what people interested in building muscle would consider a ''protein.'' ''Protein'' as a concept is grossly misleading and stupid, it should be taken behind the shed and put out of its misery. Plants don't have the amino acids required to create a single cell of muscle.
When you eat meat (aka muscle) you are eating all the building blocks of a muscle that will be used to create your muscles.
If you eat a plant just ignore the muh protein number and work with the assumption that it has 0 ''protein''
    >b-but plants have some amino acids that can be used
Splitting hairs. To get anything out of plant ''protein'' you have to supplement with meat, but the meat already has the complete ''protein'' so the plant isn't really doing anything.

Based and correct. Plant-based 'protein' isn't protein. It's just nitrogen.

    >people still fall for the bean protein meme
do you guys count protein from bread too?

      >leucine per 100g of beans
      >0.78 g
      >RDA for leucine is 42mg per kg of body weight a day
Protein is Protein! It's all the same! Fricking morons.
