Close. Leg press + Good mornings are valid replacements for both squats and deadlifts.

    b8 thread,
but ok it really just depends on goals. If you want to compete in powerlifting then it's a moronic idea to not train squats when you'll compete in them. If you don't need squats for anything and your personal risk of injury doing them is high then sure replace them. Who care?

This “if you want to compete in powerlifting” argument is used everywhere, it’s so moronic. Obviously, if you want to powerlift, you should squat. Why would you waste valuable time writing that out? Nobody is doing exclusively leg presses and then showing up to a meet having not squatted in months.

I get better hypertrophy with leg press but I feel so powerful after a meso with squats programmed even if it kinda fricks my hips for the first few weeks until I get back into form.

My legs are twice the size of any of the guys in my gym who avoid squats. I do leg press for high reps after doing low rep squats for strength that's how my leg days go.

There is no such thing as a substitute for an exercise. I am assuming you are looking at things from a "this grows this muscle" perspective, which is what people who go to the gym for looks do, which means you are moronic, and it doesn't work like that. kbye.

The shorter you are the easier it is to squat, you should only not squat if your biometrics are fricked and you cant do the form without pain

      >The shorter you are the easier it is to squat
      No
It's all about your leg + torso proportions, not your absolute height.

      Anonymous

I am 6'3'' and find it relatively difficult to squat like 120kg without a belt, but i can do like 300kg on the leg press for reps

        Anonymous

If you can’t squat 120kg you shouldn’t be leg pressing 300kg for reps. The k my reason you can is because your dorm is shit on leg press. Increase the range of motion, pause at the bottom, and maximize the amount of knee flexion.
