I’m so frustrated with myself bros.
    >cut from 298lbs down to 160lbs only took one year
    >thankfully grew taller during this so no major loose skin
    >start lifting, no clue how to train, now have typical dyel issue with unable to eat enough food in part because scared to get fat again
    >take dumb frick boomer advice and strength train start slamming 3000 calories
I should have stopped in the black and white photo. But I kept going and got even fatter. Then I got depressed for getting fat again and stopped lifting. Literally just obese skinny fat right now. But I now realize that was all totally unnecessary. I would have been much better off eating maintenance and doing a mix of strength and hypertrophy training from the first photo. I’d have lowered my bf % and escaped skinny fat and would have actually looked good. Oh well. I know what to do this time at least

Anon. Why do you tell lies? I STOPPED lifting at the bottom pic. Lost the muscle I had there. You’ll notice the pic is from a side angle and it was with a pump. I had HUGE love handles, pic related is from the same month. I won’t even post how I look right now. But trust it only gets worse. I thought back then I looked how I do now. I could have done better, but I also could have simply cut at this point.

But regardless, I still had a skinnyfat build despite gaining some muscle.

Lol should have been lifting from the start
        >copying boomers who have been lifting for 8+ years

what are your goals? I'm guessing ottermode?

Back then I wanted to look like a jojo character and be as big as possible. Had no real concept of geared vs natty expectations though.
Now that I am getting back into it, starting from ground up of fat dyel, I want to be otter mode first and then choose whether to try to get bigger or not after. I think after I get there and enjoy it for a bit I’ll likely try to get to 205 lean (6’2”).
So yes ottermode first is what I’d like to cut to. I think for me otter mode would be like 180 @ 10% but idk. Feels too small at my height.

It might be lower than that. I'm 6'4 and I was ottermode at 185lbs after 2 years of lifting. Don't be surprised if you have to drop down to 170lbs.
It's been 1.5 years since then and i've been bulking the entire time. I'm hoping I can hit 12% at 200lbs this time.

I mean so be it but that just means I’ll wanna escape ottermode all the more most likely. I’m not comfortable being that light. It makes me feel I guess flimsy and vulnerable. Thanks for the insight dude.

I feel ya; i'd be very disappointed if i'm not 12% by 200lbs. I really don't want to drop down below 200.

Boomers reccommend this because they expect you to be working out hard enough to actually need that much
      t. lost weight on 4500 calories/day, lifting + cardio + rugby practice

If you’re a skinnyfat noob you can lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. Only do cut-bulk cycles after you have actually started lifting regularly

absolutely delusional take. You can be 18%BF and roided out of your mind or 18%BF with no muscle whatsoever.

Navy measurement says I'm 22% body fat but I don't think that's true

      Don't obsess about bodyfat.
That's the problem with skinny fats, you're obsessed about bodyfat percentage and shit.
Just eat at maintenance, preferably bulk and work out like a madman. Get stronger on the main lifts and you'll build muscle. When you have some good muscle on you then you can cut
      But get stupid strong first

I had this problem when I was trying to get fit and found a solution.

Apparently the skinny "beer belly" is caused eating too much food in one serving but enough food for a day.

Instead of eating 1 serving every 6 hours, eating 1/4 serving every 1.5hours. Same 3 meals a day total.

I think this has to do with the body storing excess sugar in short term, easy access place(i.e stomach).

By increasing the 1/4 serving to 1/2 serving I was able to gain fatter arms but still keep the lean belly.
