There's a million different beliefs and none are empirically founded. Just because your God says humans are divine doesn't mean some other religion can't claim the contrary? Do you see the problem? That's why some people like to have empirical foundations for their arguments

          >Just because your God says humans are divine doesn't mean some other religion can't claim the contrary? Do you see the problem?

a common problem of atheists is they can't get in the mindset of a believer.
you're thinking of it like all religions are more or less the same shit and just a personal choice.
the believer doesn't think his religion is more or less the same shit as other religions.
he is thinking his religion is true and other religions are false.

imagine someone coming at you saying a spherical earth is just something you personally like to believe in and flat earthers are the same as you and their opinion is equally valid.

I get the mindset of a believer. That's why I explicitly asked for a real reason why humans aren't animals. Not "because I believe so". The isn't any metric by which we are remarkably different enough to warrant classifying us as anything else than a species of animals that evolved from greater primates, hominids and whatnot

expecting a regular believer to be an expert would be like expecting a secular person to be universally knowledgeable about science.

i can't tell you how magnets work but i can tell you it's probably not that they contain horny fairies that are drawn to each other. (probably)

from the Christian perspective i'd say humans are different because they were made in God's image and to be different from other species. even their souls are different.

Yeah here it is: because that's what I choose to believe. Do you really need a deeper explanation?

that's what everyone does because no one knows everything even in terms of what is available to us right now.

Theres no difference, however. Animals show emotions, empathy and morals. The only factor that we are significantly better at is abstract problem solving and cognition but that usually isn't a divine trait people refer to. Okay soul yeah but that's so vague. If animals don't have souls then I don't believe in souls but from what I understand a soul in the Christian sense is the thing that makes living organisms be alive and animals are obviously every bit as alive as us.

Men are too petulant to be argued out of a position. Strength is necessary to win a debate.
The only exception is when you are among friends or the debate is pure showmanship for a crowd. Otherwise force is the sole driver in a clash of views.
    Also
Men are animals generally and very few ascend beyond this.

??? No one said anything about noble virtues. I have wasted plenty of time arguing with people. Argumentation does nothing when someone is not open to reason.
Reason is a tool for individuals and unified group effort. It does absolutely nothing against an oppositional party or someone who is uninvested in your side.
Physical prescience and force go so much further than “reason” when it comes to rhetoric and ‘persuasion’.
If you had to deal with confrontational people, women, or non-Whites you would know.
Furthermore, no one even acts on reason by default. Someone must be first open to it, and then possess the self control to submit themselves to it, if they are rational enough to even see the case being made.

Please do not become someone who thinks they can argue their way forward.
Lying works better than arguing. So too does force.
Arguing is as I said a tool for people already on your side.
