The strength of chimps has been grossly overestimated. Any decently fit male human with good boxing or combat skills should take down a chimp 1v1 8 times out of 10 with or without tools.

maybe if it were a punching match they didn't have mouths that could bite through anything on your body or grip strength around 400 lbs.

The strongest man alive would have trouble ripping off limbs, meanwhile the average PET chimp (less trained than wild) can do this.

Humans are stronger because we're bigger. Chimps are pound for pound 1.2 times stronger than us which is nothing if you compare our sizes.

Is that supposed to be impressive? It takes a chimp 20 minutes to cripple a lady meanwhile a man could kill a woman in 1 punch in the right circumstances.

        >Chimps are pound for pound 1.2 times stronger
And this is the average human. A trained human is way stronger than 1.2x another person his bodyweight.

They do that with their mouths moron, they aren't grabbing people and ripping them limb for limb with their hands. Also I could break that person in two.

Isn't a human bite way more dangerous than a dog bite or something? Chimps do have incredible grip strength, but that just mean you need to break their fingers. If he grabs you, bite his pinky off and he loses 80% of his grip force.
You can also grab him by the feet and sling him against the ground. Crack his skull open, all the egg yolk spills out.

No, a human bite is definitely not more dangerous than a species who's primary weapon is using their mouth to murderfrick mooses and shit.
The weight difference is a huge factor since a strong wrestler could just manhandle the frick out of a 100lbs creature.

            Anonymous

It may not be more dangerous but our bite force is actually as strong as chimps pound for pound (which since we are heavier and bigger means the average human has a stronger bite than chimps). Look it up.

We just have mental blocks preventing us to bite hard in most cases. You cant really imagine yourself biting someones finger off but you can do it.

Look man we can have this thread over and over again. We simply won’t know until some count goes and fights a chimp. Thankfully you are in the age of the internet and smart phones so it’s simply a matter of time until some mentally ill boxer with the means to go on holiday takes the opportunity. There are like 8 billion motherfrickers and most of them have cameras. I assume it will happen in the next 10 years max

You're a homosexual OP. What possessed you, Sunday afternoon, that you decided to come here with this today with this shit time-wasting nonsense again?

What you've said is completely untrue and is just an excuse to get a bunch of (You)s and when everyone corrects you, you'll come back with some utter shit claiming they're wrong. No human would stand a chance against a strong, healthy chimp. Even though Brian Shaw might pull stronger, he's going to be laughably slow compared to a chimp who will run all around him. There'll be no "pinning him down" or getting him in a headlock. What's more, if we're allowing biting it's over within seconds. Just no, not even a chance.

Dunning krueger. Bet you also think a chimp could beat a wolf, or a gorilla could beat a lion. News flash, apes are incredibly weak combatants if they don't learn technique.
Their bites are fricking awful for doing anything fatal. A lion bites once and suffocates it to death. A wolf crushes bone with it's bite. A chimp bites fingers and causes flesh wounds, but has no instinct to do immediate fight ending damage.
They have 0 strikes to speak of, their skeletons are fricking awful for power generation. Bad shoulders, not bipedal so can't rotate from the hips to generate power.
Humans have survived 30 minute maulings from gorillas because past a couple bites and throwing them around, they just don't know what to do anymore when they aren't fighting ants and squirrels.
MMA fighter vs chimp? Human will bleed on the surface, but the chimp's brain will bleed, and his neck will be broken.

              Gorillas get murked by leopards.
Apes aren't built with the tools for combat, they need to learn grappling or striking to really gain any sort of advantage. Technique is crucial to a dex build's success.

Small one, but a human being able to choke is a better win condition than anything a gorilla has on him.
                >bites
                neutralized from carnivoran loose skin
                >strikes
lol, limp wristed slaps at best from gorillas
                >grappling
The gorilla can pull the leopard off only for so long, but without the technique to finish, it just prolongs the inevitable

A human with its brain limiters turned off can bite harder than any chimp. A fit and strong human is stronger than any chimp. Any moronic human can pick up a rock and throw it as chimps are notoriously shit at anything that isn't grappling and biting.

You're moronic. Put up a caveman against a chimp and the caveman comes up on top. Society nerfed our instincts but modern day fighters still tap into some of them.

        >A human with its brain limiters turned off can bite harder than any chimp.
This is objectively false. I told you I can clearly see you're just making shit up from the way you write your posts. I'm probably around twice your age and have read many books on primates and been in this stupid discussion probably a dozen times. Now I told you to frick off and stop inventing bullshit. Nothing you say is of any value.

If you think a chimp would beat Brian Shaw with bites disabled, you're so detached from reality it's laughable.

Pretty much the only video we have is this:

Now obviously Brian Shaw won't be pulled around like a rag doll like this guy. However with their grip strength, their speed and their powerful kick you'd be a fool to write off the chimpanzee's chances without biting.

            >The notion of weak human chops was based on very unrefined models that treated our jaws as two-dimensional levers. Of course, in real life, we chew in three glorious dimensions. To really understand how strong our mandibles are, we need to add that third dimension to the models.

            >That’s exactly what Wroe did. He used his signature technique, called finite element analysis, to create a virtual model of a human skull (belonging to a San hunter-gatherer). The technique is commonly used by engineers to test the properties of machines and vehicles, but Wroe uses it to put animal skulls through a ‘digital crash-test’.

            >For good measure, Wroe also digitised the skulls of six other primates – the gorilla, chimpanzee, orang-utan and white-handed gibbon, and two extinct species, Australopithecus africanus and Paranthropus boisei. All of the skulls came from adult females. The images below show an example of these virtual models, displaying the forces that act upon the skulls as they chomp down on the second molar. The blue regions are those under the least amount of stress, while the red, pink and white regions are enduring the highest stresses.

            >The results revealed that human skulls, far from being weak, are quite tough and unusually efficient for their size. Our second molars can exert a bite force between 1,100 and 1,300 Newtons, beating the orang-utan, gibbon and Australopithecus but lagging behind the gorilla, chimp and Paranthropus. These forces are roughly what you’d expect for a primate of our size. We’re never going to bite with the sheer power of a Megalodon, or the predators that Wroe usually studies, but we’re no slouches when compared to closely related species.

Only slightly weaker than a chimp's bite. Very comparable and humans exhert less force to produce the sams pressure.

They're talking about bite force on the second molars, the average human bite force is pathetic as shown in the other source. Nobody's going to bite another animal with just their second molars.

I really fricking hope you're trolling. Kicking a backpedaling twink and having him only just fall over is not power.

              ?t=158
Chimps have no ability to generate velocity with their limbs, and have poor striking surfaces. They can't ball a fist, their legs aren't long enough to use their shins to any degree of effectiveness, their hips and legs aren't built to do any straight kicks either.
Please stop acting like a moron.

Bite force is measured by the mollars moron. All animals bite with the mollars to crush, canines to penetrate.

i remember reading that for our brains to be permitted to enlarge in the front of the skull , the jaw muscles had to get weaker to stop putting so much pressure on the side of the skull with the masseter muscle.
it worked, as the jaw got weaker allowing the skull to get fatter, but the gene that made the jaw weaker ended up making all our muscles weaker at the same time. sucks. gene editing has to fix that.

theres a russian father and daughter with that gene turned back on by chance, both of em are jacked as all hell

Sounds like bullshit. The real reason our bites are weaker is due to neoteny. we lack a sagittal crest ego lack the surface area on our skull for muscle development. But we look cuter.

chimps have better attachment points for leverage and also do not have a cognitive limiter like humans do, they can basically use near 100% of their strength if they want to. this is similar to moron stength. humans rarely use more than 60% of the strength they and even when fully trained in a specific movement they'd be lucky to exceed 90%.

I have yet to hear of a chimp successfully defeating a physically capable, fully grown adult male. It's almost always a chimp mauling elderly untrained boomers. Travis weighed 90kg, was high on adderall and enraged and he still didn't kill his victim after 20 minutes of brutalising. An adult in the same circumstances would've brained her in under 60 seconds. The chimp wanking here is unacceptable

They're cowardly animals. They fight weaklings and women that they know are unable to fight back. When they assemble for war, if they can see they are outnumbered they retreat as soon as they can.
