Also swedes and parsnips can mix in the mash - it's popular enough you can buy it ready made and not too goyslopped.

Miss me with the sweet potatoes, which are just watery swedes.

I believe that the Yanks call them rutabaga, which may actually derive from the Swedish name for their national turnip variant.

I do that every time. Finely diced, not too much because it can overpower the taters.

cabbage otoh, I can't see how that would possibly work. mashed taters pairs great with sauerkraut tho.

Yeah I’d used grated carrots. Kale in mashed potatoes in awesome too. Little stamppot action !!!

I lost a lot of weight on keto so I know it works. But I still rate potatoes highly because they are VERY filling for amount of calories provided. Excellent weight loss food. Of course, I mean baked or boiled potatoes, not manufactured shit coated in seed oils made with potatoes.

Virtually every single plant food has the same potassium content once you account for moisture content. It's the most plentiful electrolyte in plants.

I like potatoes but I never finish the bag before they start decaying. Plus they take a lot more effort to cook which I wouldn't mind if I had a wife at home doing it but it's just me cooking, working and lifting.

potatoes are the most low effort thing you could possibly cook, and last for fricking ages, what do you even mean.

        Anonymous

Takes too long. I'm done cooking a steak in 6 minutes. 6 minutes for a potatoe and it's not even started.

        >salt water
        >bring to boil
        >throw taters in
        >stab with fork to check doneness
        So high effort to cook...

it's called superstition. almost all supplements have no basis in anything but since the supplement and megavitamin hysteria in the 50s this has been a long standing superstition.

Been eating taters my whole life. When I moved out they tasted like crap no matter what internet guide I followed.
I had to ask my father how he made them. Turns out the internet sucks and my dad is a potato god because now I enjoy them again.
