Just start lifting weights until it becomes fun
Exercise will naturally feel good because of all the health benefits. But to make it enjoyable for me I'll watch or listen to something I like while lifting. I also record all my lift numbers like I'm leveling up in an RPG.
You just have to learn to enjoy pain in general. It’s actually relatively simple. It’s a mental switch you flip. You just decide “ok I a pain is good now” and wallah.
try different lifts, for me it was oly that kicked things off. Mattie Rogers in particular.
I don't go too heavy because I don't want to frick myself beyond repair, but it feels good and athletic to be able to perform the motion and improve on it.
it's fun when you eat enough, getting enough energy and progressing. Cutting while lifting is what I imagine hell to be like but it's gotta be done for aesthetics.

he doesnt compete but goes to some douchey crossfit-esque private "gym"
When people start shoving block training to people who just want bigger arms I start getting upset. The foundation of all their strength and progress is based on the high volume work then they peak for a meet. Remove the meet and that strength phase is completely worthless. You get detrained doing that.

Idk I think getting stronger is fun and powerlifting is gay because everybody contorts themselves into pretzels to cheat lifts and move more weight
I’m at 1.8/3/4/5 and I’m happy with my squat/deadlift but want to get a stronger upper body still
