Average number of push ups for guys past 30 is probably 1 or 2. A 135 bench is harder than a push up unless you're big and tall

Well that's realistic. Most people have lives and mess up their diet and routine a lot. The average person is not a gymcel

      >PR is between advanced and elite for my body weight

A rare feelgood moment for me. All those egg whites and countless hours of solitude at the gym paid off today.

1 rep? 100 reps? Fucking worthless without additional information.

why do you say american males as if the average euro male is any better
the average man is dogshit, doesn't matter the country. that 1pl8 bench is probably with awful form, too.

      >50 percent of people can deadlift 405lbs and bench press 225lbs

Not a fucking chance. Not even 50 percent of people who work out regularly can do that. Also keep in mind that half of “people” are women, which means for this to be true it would likely be statistically weighted towards more than 50 percent of men being able to hit 1/2/3/4, which anyone who’s stepped into a gym knows is not the case.

I figured he was just posting it to make annoy people. I think I’ve seen it before but whatever. And I say this as a person who got 1/2/3/4 some time ago.

It took me a year to be able to bench a plate for reps so I'd say its pretty accurate. A lot of the other zoomers at my gym are hardly benching a plate.

did you start when you were a teenager or were you extremely skelly or something? i don't get how someone could not be able to bench 1 pl8

nta but it took me a while to bench a plate because i didnt understand how to bench at all and would basically just muscle the weight up with my shoulders

I'm here now - have only been lifting for a few months, how do I fix this? My front delt is a crutch for almost all my lifts and it feels bad man

I was very skelly and that goes for many of my zoomer peers as well, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with the low numbers. My unathletic background didn't help either. When did you start and when were you able to bench a plate?

i started when I was like 18-19 or something and I could always bench like around 155 for 5 whe I began at 160 lbs/6 ft tall.

I find that very hard to believe especially with that height/weight. You'd be repping 2 plates in a few months with those initial stats.

I probably would’ve but I always quit after like a few months. Rn I’ve been going back consistently for about a month after like a year or 2 break and im at 190 5x5 ( I think I started at like 160-170, I increase by 5 every week ). I got fat and am like 180 lbs now though

I passed 1pl8 within first few weeks but yet to hit 2pl8 after several years, if you started well below 1pl8 and had trouble makinh consistent progress I could see it

1/2/3/4 is ohp, bench, squat and deadlifts? Also, is it referring to one rep max, or doing these for reps?

average male can also not run 3 miles at 7:30 miles, can't do a pullup without kipping, can't do 1pl8 ohp, they also aren't having sex.

welcome to normie america, if you're a tunny virgin you're the average.

ouch man, i remember being at the beach with the wife and seeing some teens kipping away at like a dozen pullups.
Jumped up and did controlled full extension of the lats for the same. Hurt like a motherfucker, but god damn it's insane that everyone has to kip to do anything. our backs have become way too weak from nerd sitting.

tbf if you can do a dozen kipping surely u can do at least 5 strict, they just dont understand that kipping is incorrect. i bet if someone showed those kids the path it would be fine
