Depending on the source pigs can digest up to 97% of non-starch polysaccharids i.e. cellulose, etc.
Humans can not digest any of it.
Meat, eggs and dairy can be absorbed far better and will leave less waste on top of being more nutritioud. You're all delusional idiots who either can't read the science or have been moralbaited by this weak modern society.

How about you read your own source
                >Some fiber types are more digestible than others, and although they cannot be broken down by mammalian enzymes, they can be fermented by bacteria in the hindgut
This is the exact same digestive process in humans. Any hindgut fermentation of cellulose that pigs can achieve via gut bacteria can also be achieved by humans. We have the same gut physiology as pigs and similar compositions of gut flora.
If pigs could digest plant fibre so easily, then your linked article wouldn't be discussing strategies to improve their digestion such as exogenous enzymes being added to their feed.

Read my posts ITT and find one where I say anything about plants being superior to animal foods for nutrition or digestion. All I'm saying is that humans CAN digest plant matter, even if its not optimal, and correcting the morons who think there is some fundamental difference in the digestive processes of pigs and humans. There isn't.

Read your own source you Black person
                >The digestibility of ″fiber″ in swine diets can vary dramatically from 0 to 97% depending upon the source of fiber [10], processing method [11], and concentration in the diet [12,13]. However, many NSP are partially fermentable in the hindgut and can be used to produce volatile fatty acids (VFA) such as acetate, propionate, and butyrate. These VFA are rapidly absorbed and have been shown to supply between 5 and 28% of the maintenance energy requirement of pigs
The above statement applies equally to humans as to swine.

Doubtful. 1277 calories for 100g of protein from lentils. 2554 calories for a decent amount of protein in a day that doesn't contain all essential amino acids. Perhaps that's sufficient if you're an Elliot Page mode 100lb manlet and only need 100g of protein daily. That's fine by me, society needs an underclass. But the weak shouldn't lecture the strong.

              >The physiological similarity between humans and pigs in terms of digestive and associated metabolic processes places the pig in a superior position over other non-primate models. Furthermore, the pig is a human-sized omnivorous animal with comparable nutritional requirements, and shows similarities to the human intestinal microbial ecosystem. Also, the pig has been used as a model to assess microbiota-health interactions, since pigs exhibit similar syndromes to humans, such as NEC and partly weanling diarrhoea.

During those years I also taught biology and genetics at UGA.
              >Instead, as is the case with other later-generation backcross hybrids, the most revealing data is of an anatomical and/or physiological nature. And this is exactly the kind of hybrid that humans seem to be, that is, it appears that humans are the result of multiple generations of backcrossing to the chimpanzee.

              >The thing that makes backcross hybrids hard to analyze using genetic techniques is that, in terms of nucleotide sequences, they can differ very little from the parent to which backcrossing occurs. It’s important to realize, however, that a lack of such differences does not prevent them from differing anatomically. Sequence differences are not necessary for anatomical differences to be present. An obvious example of this phenomenon is Down’s syndrome.

Wrong. Gorillas get big from greens because they have a very large hindgut/large intestine which harbours large colonies of bacteria that eat the plant matter. As the bacteria die, the gorilla gut absorbs the amino acids and fatty acids that constituted the bacteria.
Pigs, by comparison, have an almost identical digestive arrangement to humans in terms of proportions and functions.

Outcome is the same. So what's your point. Humans aren't the most efficient at digesting plants, period.

First you said humans can't digest plants, now you're saying we're just less efficient.

This. Vegans are moronic with the volumes they need to eat to match meat nutrition. OPs pic doesn't even specify whether the lentils are cooked or not. If not then it's even more insane.

Not gonna mass reply to everyone because I'm not a gay like some of you. Gonna give you guys the tl;dr here: yes both humans and pigs can break down NSPs etc. in their digestive tract via fermentation into fatty acids. However this is largely dependant on your individual biome inside your digestive tract and what we find is that in modern western countries people are less and less able to do this efficiently because of modern diets essentially ruining microbial health in inside humans. Ultimately all of this is really just a small factor tho and most of you shouldn't bother with it. Eat more fiber if you run into digestive issues other than that you're probably fine if your diet is mostly whole foods with sufficient fruit/veg which btw isn't as much as you think it needs to be. A banana, cup of mixed greens and some berries each day will give you 99% of what you need out of them.

Anything more than a cup of cooked lentils a day is too much dietary fiber and will make you bloated as all hell. I can speak from experience. They're good for the elderly can't poop well and woman who want to limit what they eat but not for building muscle.

You don't have all the amino acids in lentils, you'll need to eat as much from another source to make up. But I think that's why the majority of vegans is weak : they're moronic.

For the curious, these are the real numbers if we normalize based on 36g of protein:
    >137.4g of dried lentils / 476.8kcal / DIAAS 0.5-0.7
    >calcium 76.5mg
    >iron 8.9mg
    >magnesium 105.8mg
    >potassium 920.6mg
    >vitamin A 0mg (82.4µg beta-carotene / 6.9µg retinol equivalent)
    >vitamin C 0mg
    >fiber 12.0g
    And
    >173.1g of flank steak / 254.4kcal / DIAAS 1.1
    >calcium 7.8mg
    >iron 3.1mg
    >magnesium 39.3mg
    >potassium 619.6mg
    >vitamin A 0mg
    >vitamin C 0mg
    >fiber 0g

Good post. Now the same for beef liver, again normalized to 36g
      >180g serving
      >243 kcal
      >calcium 9 mg
      >iron 8.82mg
      >magnesium 23.99 mg
      >potassium 563.4 mg
      >Vitamin A 8942 mcg (!)
      >Vitamin C 2.34 mg
      >fiber 0

      And goat liver:
      >153g serving
      >243 kcal
      >calcium 26mg
      >iron 8.82mg
      >magnesium 32mg
      >potassium 464 mg
      >vitamin A 16,362 mcg (!!!)
      >vitamin C 18.36mg
