The fact that he can lift this weight without being around 400 pounds like the people who can actually lift these weights just goes to show how much of a joke sumo can be
i wonder how much weight prime thor would have lifted if he spent a few years maxing out his sumo pull
imagine if he pulled with a homosexual extra wide sumo stance? disgusting
I don't think thor would ever be able to lift more with a sumo stance, he can't get into a proper position at such a high bodyweight. It looked like he could have done a bit more than 501 and it would have been cool to see what he could have done if he continued training and kept the weight on
It's pretty clear that sumo has the possibility of being a legit cheat for typically lower weight classes and certain builds where you can optimize the technique and rom. There are so many young lifters nowadays who weigh nothing but lift insane numbers using sumo. I guess this Dan Grigsby guy is an outlier being able to pull off sumos like that at 125kg bodyweight

It does help to be lighter something, but the main key is to be a hyper manlet

And also the bar used here is the most bendy deadlift bar in existence so i don't even understand why different powerlifting meets can use different bars that have huge differences when it comes to deadlifts and if you break the record on a noodle bar it counts all the same
John Haack also lifts as much as many superheavyweights.
Beyond a certain weight / bodyfat your mass starts compromising your startposition so deadlift eventually stops improving even when gaining mass. It's opposite for the squat, which is why the SHWs tend to squat more than they DL while it's the opposite in every other weightclass.
>John Haack also lifts as much as many superheavyweights.
that's only because he's an extremely rare genetically gifted lifter, you can't compare one outlier 200lb lifter to the standard 300+ers
but yeah you can pull insane sumo numbers if you're built for it
my buddy pulled 705 conventional overhand on a stiff bar and that is actually more impressive than a easy sumo 1000 pull any day. now shut your fricking gay mouth
>overhand
Do you mean hook or just double overhand? If the latter you're talking out your ass. Plus you're moronic if you think 700 is even in the realm of 1000. These 1000lb sumo pullers would do 800 conventional for reps
>arguing over a """sport""" that allows you to use equipment when they call it "raw" >arguing over form in a """sport""" that has no objective but to do 1 arguable rep of a conditioning exercise
powerlifting is not a sport. it will never be a sport. it has never made anyone athletic. it has never made anyone aesthetic. it is not impressive, it is not cool. you get outrunned, out fought, out swam, out lifted even by athletes in other sports because you optimize meticulously a techniqueless """sport""". that is all.
Wow this guy should do the WR for 18” partial deadlift.
Oh wait he can’t because that strength he has is transferable to nothing impressive.
He can’t be a strong man, he can’t be a CrossFit competitor, he can’t be a body builder, he can’t be a power lifter, he can sure sumo deadlift though good for him.
>sumo
t. has a total lighter than this guy's deadlift
fpbp
That 3inch ROM shouldn't count. Come back when you have a real deadlift
>sumo
next
>sumo
Many such cases
What do you mean he's absolutely jacked lol
ya but hes not like 400 pounds like the other guys in strong man lol they get mogged by this guy

DL is truly the lanklet's lift.

zoom zoom
>Ultra wide sumo
>Extra bendy bar
>6" ROM
Cheatier than straps and a multi-ply suit but powershitters will say this is somehow more legitimate.
He's a big guy
>sumo
>mixed grip

I am not the one bragging about 5pl8 like there aren't high school kids hitting that on the daily. your life is pathetic, but you knew this already
lel dyel, you will never hit 5 plaets

sumo will never be valid kys
>not even a huge guy
he is in the 275lbs weight class at like 5'8
>sumo
>deadlift
The ant lifts high numbers conventional and he's a giga manlet. Sumo is an abomination.

>patrial deadlift
>weights further off the ground than op
lol
lmao
>Same ROM as OP
>Strongman recognises it as a partial lift
>Powershitters think OP is a proper deadlift
>For You
Lel
Wow, that's really impressive. That's probably like a 650lb-700lb real DL. Which is much more than mine.
>sumo
you are a fricking idiot, you know that right?
