This is my progress so far, I started in April 2023 with ~150kg bodyweight, and now I'm at 99kg. From a completely sedentary lifestyle to gym workout 5 times a week and daily 10k steps plus proper diet. No sugar, no bagged stuff, I just measured calories until now but just started to calculate my macros too.

I'm open to any advice and, even though I am not qualified to advice anything, I can answers questions related to my personal experience.

There's still a lot of work to do, but I start to be proud of myself.

How is he gonna put on muscle AND lose weight? The guys over on the weight loss general said that wasn’t possible

Fat fricks can build muscle in a caloric deficit if they eat enough protein, it's not up for debate.

Thank God for your fat distribution genetics. No b***h breasts. I didn't even get as fat as you did, but got forever saggy breasts after losing weight. Ehh maybe not forever since they seem to get better over time.

Some fasting cultists believe that prolonged fasts help with loose skin. I've seen some pretty convincing anecdotal evidence but haven't gone longer than 4 days myself yet. Just throwing it out there if loose skin bothers you.

Fricking awesome dude keep it up. What's your goal weight? How did you deal with the hunger?

I guess around 85-90kg will be fine, but I try to mind more about the looks than the number on the scale. For the hunger, at first it was hard but I have been learning about low calory food and I'm doing much better now at around 1500kcal.

dude that's king shit, keep it up mate

      thanks man!

thank you! I am a new person, I was having a really limited life and didn't even notice. Every single thing in my life is better now. Mens sana in corpore sana, you know.

Yeah it could be worse, but I'm worried about the belly skin. I'll wait and see what happens, but right now it looks like I'll need a surgery.

surgery's going to leave you with large scars as well. Even if I can't get anyone to show me a before/after of loose skin naturally going away, collagen and topical oils are supposed to help.

For that loose belly skin, 1.5mm microneedling once a week and cera ve moisturizer every day.

      Anonymous

you think I'll be able to get that skin tight? I was assuming I'll have to get a surgery for that skin

        Anonymous

It will help, but it won't work miracles. You look young enough that it will heal over time.
One thing to keep in mind is that microneedling on fat areas is going to leave track marks as the edges of the roller dig in a litte deeper. Don't freak out, just put a little neosporin on it then keep moisturizing and the red lines will disappear in a day. But seriously, microneedling is some good voodoo shit. It will heal the stretch marks too.
Get a 1.0mm for your face to make that beard fill in the patchiness, with some $25 minoxidil.

Keep up the good progress brother, this is for life

Fantastic stuff OP. Since you're barrel chested, focus on benching and building wider shoulders as well. You'l look great if you keep the cut going.

Guy, look at your arms. I started in Novemeber and I can see a difference in my legs and upper body and I am 60. You should look like a Nazi statue in a year. Weight loss is great but functional strength and increased muscle endurace is something you can use daily. I lift every day now. Weight is a dependant variable, forget it. Measure the pounds lifed. Plan your workouts. Eat for power. Muscle is very expensive from a metebolic stamdpoint so just enough cardio to keep your haeart and VO2 max up, then lift like a convict.

I looked like you and OP before i dropped 140ish pounds a few years back. skin was wrinkly for but after a few months of lifting it was fine. loose skin problems are exaggerated imo

either way, even if you do have loose skin you're going to look and feel significantly better at a decent weight. just get fricken joocy and no one will care. you definitely need to lift and preferably do cardio or you'll just turn out skinnyfat

              >what lifting
stronglifts 5x5 and then madcow once I progressed out of it. for core mostly hanging leg raises and the obliques variant as well as cable twists. the various planking variants are also worth doing. buy yourself a dip/pull-up belt or weighted vest so you can progressively overload them

    This is absolutely awesome.
My only advice is maybe to try running to replace to the 10k steps. It would be great for your heart after a life of a bad diet. Try to run 5k 3 days a week and then increase frequency. Run in zone 2
