A 5k is 5000 meters. You read that and think it's a lot. Then you go over and convert that to miles and realize it's only a little over than 3 miles. Iv'e done 4 in under 30min. The last run I had I managed to get over 7 miles before the end of the hour.
Anon that just isn't the case. I can run 2 miles, as a 215 lb tub of shit. Assuming this board isn't as moronic as I was and is at healty BMI you should be able to outrun him.

Going up like 0.5kmh is an insane exertion, i feel like i am dying
just run more easy miles and then one or 2 days a week do a speed workout with intervals faster than your race pace
