>Darria, sites that may seem reliable like Medical Daily have also put out false information regarding mercury. The publication most recently listed tuna as a high mercury fish to avoid – along the lines of shark and tilefish, (which is simply false) – and quoted Consumer Reports' debunked advice on tuna.
Tuna is high in mercury, and even if it wasn’t oily fish like mackerel is far superior and costed the same anyway? So why bother eating tuna that isn’t as nutritious and has the risk of Mercury contamination
Light tuna from skipjack or yellowfin has very little mercury since they dont grow that big. Plus Tuna has a good amount of selenium, and mercury binds to selenium and passes through you easily.
cheap, versatile and nutritious
obviously "too much" applies to everything, including this, so even though that goes without saying I feel I have to anyway. Sorry for making you all feel patronised but this is how things are
I got a sale on some decent tuna on Amazon a few years, got like 30 cans less than $50, the tuna was mixed with some kind of oil (it wasn't that high calorie) and it was delicious. Could just crack open a can and have a meal then and there
mercury in the meat, aluminum in the can, and plastic in the can liner. i'll pass thanks. i prefer to get wild caught salmon wrapped in butcher paper from the fish counter.
Cheap and good.
Mercury in a tin, you are better off going with either sardines mackerel anchovies salmon or herring

You have to eat a lot of it to even begin thinking about the risk
I eat fish everyday

what if i already take selenium vitamin supplements daily
Light tuna is so much better than the more "premium" white stuff, which is disgusting and dry.
I ate 500g of tuna in one sitting for a week, nothing happened and I'm still eating a can of tuna every week
>1 can
Bro I put a can of tuna on every one of my power salads, and I eat them almost daily.

Thought you were quoting Daria with that post and read the whole thing in Janes voice
I would love a Daria reboot where the gals talk about the industrial revolution, modern shit-science, and ((them)).
>6 million?
>Doesn't add up.
You'll have to wait at least a decade, chud. If made today the writers could never go off book like that.
Show me a single case of a person who got mercury poisoning from canned tuna.
Mercury poison is often a slow and gradual process that builds over years. It's not insta death you moron.
Show me one person who suffered from this "slow and gradual process" by eating too much tuna.
Why bother when chicken exists
canned tuna >>> canned chicken
Canned chicken is a great addition to meals IMO. Every time I make pasta I also throw in some chicken and beans.
Only thing I can think is maybe you don't have time to cook.
*thoughts on canned mercury
it stinks
If it wasn't for mercury it would mog any other protein source to oblivion. I don't understand how they are not making cheap mercury free tuna.
Keep a few cans around to have just in case funds runs low.
A staple of my diet. So far no heavy metal poisoning.

Amazing emergency food next to spam.
Kinda bland by itself though, I enjoy sardines more.
Yum
Dines in water is better.
I should into tuna again, dunno why I stopped eating it
