      >Darria, sites that may seem reliable like Medical Daily have also put out false information regarding mercury. The publication most recently listed tuna as a high mercury fish to avoid – along the lines of shark and tilefish, (which is simply false) – and quoted Consumer Reports' debunked advice on tuna.

this shithole is full of false information

Tuna is high in mercury, and even if it wasn’t oily fish like mackerel is far superior and costed the same anyway? So why bother eating tuna that isn’t as nutritious and has the risk of Mercury contamination

          Anonymous

You have to eat a lot of it to even begin thinking about the risk

Light tuna from skipjack or yellowfin has very little mercury since they dont grow that big. Plus Tuna has a good amount of selenium, and mercury binds to selenium and passes through you easily.

Light tuna is so much better than the more "premium" white stuff, which is disgusting and dry.

Show me a single case of a person who got mercury poisoning from canned tuna.

Mercury poison is often a slow and gradual process that builds over years. It's not insta death you moron.

Canned chicken is a great addition to meals IMO. Every time I make pasta I also throw in some chicken and beans.

If it wasn't for mercury it would mog any other protein source to oblivion. I don't understand how they are not making cheap mercury free tuna.

I got a sale on some decent tuna on Amazon a few years, got like 30 cans less than $50, the tuna was mixed with some kind of oil (it wasn't that high calorie) and it was delicious. Could just crack open a can and have a meal then and there
