Yeah, Brooks is the worst offender when it comes to their wide options. Always in the worst, most bland colorways. Hoka is a bit too squishy soft for me so I switched to the Saucony Ride. Very similar to the Brooks Ghost, but

I thought people complain about hokas because their regular sizes run narrow
Let me hoka pill you. These are the male equivalent of those gym thot ass tights. I use them to fraud my height. I've got them in all black.
Just don't get the crazy colours that draw attention to the difference between the stack and the shoe itself.
The latest models are trying to look like yeezys, and are being worn by Asian zoomers kek
Even check out Japanese streetwear fits, they are wearing them
I tied Hokas and I’m not a fan but you’re a retard, anon. People like you never elaborate. I assume you’re a minimalist fag? That’s fine, but Hoka’s design works for runners that prefer cushioning.
So then trying any shoes aren’t worth it if you blow your knees out in 6 months then

Bro, I’m pretty sure you won’t "blow your knees out" if you’ve been regularly running in a pair of shoes for six fucking months. It would’ve happened long before that.

They’re very specific. Most idiots just pick their size but if you just use there store Finder with shoes they have and try them then order them or buy them there you will be fine and get the best shoes
how’s the Arahi? the shoe finder suggested them. I’m looking at getting new shoes, moved to a new city with a paved trail and my Sauconys are giving in.
came out no where seemingly overnight to artificial abundance of praise. tried a few pairs just to see what the hubub was about, they're fucking paper thin and feel like cardboard. pass on em
Not a meme at all. While I love my Xeros, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a cushioned daily trainer like the Clifton/Ghost/Ride/Pegasus/Cumulus and so forth.
Unironically the best shoes I’ve ever bought. I have a missing ligament in my ankle that supposed to keep the tendon in place. Ankle support comes from the sole and these shoes support me like no other. Each shoe is also only like 11 ounces so it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. They look a little goofy but I wear them when I’m hunting because they protect me from rolling my bad ankle on rough terrain.
Nope, I’m talking about their running shoes, I forget the type. It was something that was being discontinued. Do they make boots too? Either way it’s quality footwear.
I know it seems weird but I’ve hunted a lot in a lot of different boots and shoes and these ones are the best at least for my needs. Not at all waterproof though, which is to be expected being made of mesh and foam.
I had tendonitis all the time until my bro put me on to the hokas. I haven't had any running injury in this shoe I've put at least 1,500 miles in hokas. For me it's the clifton 8. I haven't tried their other shoes. I had an unrelated traumatic injury and double ORIF. I have pain just jumping in a typical shoe. But I can run comfortably in these. It is a very cushioned sole.
I had long running problems with my ankles while running in cheap shoes. Since i bought my HOKA Clifton 8, I did a half-marathon and training for a full one in May.
I bought a pair of Rincons that were on sale. I'd been running in New Balance 880s for years. The Rincons were basically biodegradable. Serious damage to the soles after only a few runs. And I get a lot of miles out of a pair of shoes generally. I can't imagine you'd have any traction in winter at all with them. I switched back to NB shoes for now, I'll probably wear the Hokas again in spring. I patched up the sole damage with Shoe Goo and it seems to be sticking.
Very good.
Best for reducing impact.
as a 260lb powershitter these fucking angel shoes saved my feet
For fat runners and wide-footed runners. Use to wear brook’s but they don’t make wide size in fun colors switched to hoka

Oops, forgot to finish this post. The Ride is similar to the Ghost but I prefer the firmer feel.
I thought people complain about hokas because their regular sizes run narrow
I’ve only ever used the Clifton, but Hoka’s widths felt more generous to me compared to more recent Ghost models.
Ridiculous amount of cushioning makes them feel awful imo. If you are under 250 lbs or run less than 75 miles a week there is no reason to use them.
Was running 40-60 miles a week at 150lbs, and these were helpful.
best shoes I've ever worn

them hoes ugly and look goofy on foot.
t. manlet that prefers functional yet aesthetic workout gear
If they look ugly, you're not running fast enough.
>thick soles
>cushioning
>raised heel
Yes?
enjoy your blown out knees
What's your fastest mile?
>literally have many shoes with normal and less cushion and different styles
>hurrr they bad
You must just hate shoes

Bruh they have shoe finder and even let you find local stores to try shit on.
>bro you can try the shoes on! thats how you know you won't blow your knees out in 6 months after using them
ok
So then trying any shoes aren’t worth it if you blow your knees out in 6 months then
t. hoka shill
go away

N
What’s wrong with that?
So you suck?
you're right, they're made for manlets who don't want to admit they're buying lifts.
>raised heel
>their shoes are all 5-6mm drop
quiet, worm

They’re under Deckers Brand which has UGG as their big shoe brand but honestly Hoka is creeping up now
t. Deckers employee
ugly, excessive branding. ON are nicer looking.
No one should be able to see your running shoes anyways. You jogging at a 10min pace?
i can see them. on my feet, in my home, on my shoe rack. They're appalling. Simple fact is ON are much nicer.
Dumb sneakerhead. Shoes are just disposable tools, like car tires.
Tried their neutral equivalent and they’re not as good as the tried and true Ghost or Pegasus. Fine for casual wear but not for a daily trainer.
I wish I could get a pegasus in a wide fit. My NB will have to do until that day comes.
Try the Saucony Ride 15 if you’re a Pegasus fan.
If you like Novablasts, you'll probably like Hokas,
They are a meme. Xero shoes are the pinnacle of footwear.
>barefooter
Nice 25min 5k you got there.

Nope, I’m talking about their running shoes, I forget the type. It was something that was being discontinued. Do they make boots too? Either way it’s quality footwear.
>hunting in running shoes
Not really sure how that protects you from rolling your ankle, but yeah, Hoka does also make boots.
I know it seems weird but I’ve hunted a lot in a lot of different boots and shoes and these ones are the best at least for my needs. Not at all waterproof though, which is to be expected being made of mesh and foam.
Fair enough. Can’t argue with results.
There is no research at all to support or deny ankle support in preventing ankle injuries.
running shoe hierarchy

B Tier

C Tier

I’d put Saucony in S tier now. The Ride 15 is excellent.
This tier list makes no sense at all. How much do you run? Competitive or amateur level? Weekly mileage?
Altra or death
I’ve never gotten a good feeling out of the Altras specifically the lone peak. But I tend to go toward the hoka end of cush
Horrible for running, they'd always fall apart on the heel in one month of my running routine. I vowed never to buy another.
Hokas are training wheels for runners. Fine to start but you gotta stop at some point

i liked my Hoka's, but i have a pair of Brook's Glycerins now and i much prefer them
