You unironically need meds. Trying to sleep naturally it's not worth the suffering insomnia brings.
    t. insomnia haver since 14, busy parents decided to give me meds, now I'm chronically dependent on them

        >muh healthy lifestyle
I've tried absolutely everything. When you have insomnia you reach a point where the lack of sleep it's making you crazy. Some people are predisposed to it, dad was mentally ill, obese and with sleep problems

        >need meds
Enjoy not entering REM/deep sleep. You aren't actually sleeping and you know it because you feel like shit every day.

You are chronically online and haven't set a proper schedule. You probably also do drugs or something like the moron above

        >You aren't actually sleeping and you know it because you feel like shit every day
That's how I felt when I tried to stay sober (1 year). Literal nightmare. Now I sleep way better but I take like 5 different pills every night. Consider my brain was fricked with sedatives since 14.

Actually the thought of having such a limiting and weakening condition deeply integrated into my body and being gives me the fuel to keep going. It's like I'm living with a parasite that tries to kill me but I'm not fighting him because he's part of me. One day I will be the first person to be awake for more than 11 days and if I don't pass out after that I will only become stronger and have the best sleep of my entire life.

I've heard those reduce your quality of sleep drastically and your body ends up negating their effects after a while.

        >I've heard those reduce your quality of sleep drastically
I think it depends the type of med. You need to go to a psychiatrist, explain your symptons and he will decide what's best for you.
        >your body ends up negating their effects after a while.
That's why the purpose of every treatment it's to reduce the dosage until you go back to sleep normally again without pills. I personally need a really long path to go back but if your brain it's still a virgin I don't see the problem with this point. My advice it's to have a defined routine, waking up early it's key. If you start taking meds, NEVER resist to their effects, go to sleep immediately after the dopey feel hits.

First quit caffeine, if you haven't already

Look up sleep aid supplements. Chaos and Pain Hypnos, Huge Supplements Hibernate, and Glaxon Tranquility all worked well for me. The best solution of all is to simply be physically exhausted at night either through work or intensive lifting and cardio.

This. Just do stuff all day, tire yourself up, drink some warm milk and read some Plato. Also avoid doing stuff on the bed like watching tv, using your phone etc. Bed should only be for sleeping and maybe sex

      >quit caffeine

      >Just do stuff all day
You guys are right. I'm pretty sure I'm predisposed to insomnia or some shit since I have had trouble with sleep since I was 13 or something. I never have an issue when I am physically and mentally active throughout the day and avoid caffeine.
Once I start lacking sleep for some reason I tend to fall into a downwards spiral of being a lazy shit and abuse caffeine to get over it and then sleeping even less the day after it etc. I've barely slept all week by now.
I will break the cycle though, I'll go for a run once the sun rises, work out and then read a book or something. Thanks for helping me think straight, WAGMI.

I quit caffeine for sleep gains and it was a massive improvement. Waking up rested and having dreams again are the more noticeable improvements.
I felt dead tired during the first week, but after that it normalised - so just stick to it and avoid it at all costs, especially since you already have real big problems with sleep anything else that interferes with that is going to be amplified.
Also I think not eating before bed is legit advice, for years I was working this lateshift job and would always eat a big dinner 11PM, just before I was going to sleep. When I stopped doing that I felt my sleep improved a bit, just seemed to be less agitated during the night.

Anyone else find that bananas help them sleep? Have a bad habit of waking up for an hour or two early in the morning but I started eating 2 bananas as soon as this happens and I fall back asleep pretty quickly.
