Yeah I want that gym vibe from the 70s/ 80s where everyone is hanging out, having a good time, and lifting together.

You can't have that when the country is majority non-white and everything is a social landmine.

Then why are people friendly and comfy at my muay thai gym?

Niche activities will attract likeminded people no matter race. A regular gym is going to attract all kinds of people.

I have that at my gym. Don't go to a chain, go to a humble local gym and talk to the regulars.

Yeah it's fricking weird how much lifting attracts social morons. Like in any other sports you would just talk to the people around you every now and then, but not at weight lifting gyms apparently.

People in the 70s and 80s would have preferred to listen to music on their phone if they had the technology to do it.

Nah they wouldnt. They were having a great time together. They would not want to isolate themselves after they already know how cool it is to lift together.

Going to a random gym and lifting isn't a sport. It's just an activity people do on their own.

It takes time for people to warm up OP. Set the example. Start saying hi, smiling and waving at people. I've started doing it, it's fun.

The gym should be a place where you walk in and proceed to destroy your self mentally and physically. It's not a fricking frat party or the fricking food court at the fricking mall. The fricks wrong with your homosexuals these days? Probably why your not making gains and either hoping on steroids, sarms or being bitter and accusing everyone else of being on them.
    Ngmi homosexual.

    >be me
    >walk into gym, no eye contact
    >watch people do lifts, do my lifts in privacy
    >no ear buds in, no headphones, don't use phone
    >nobody talks to me
I like it this way. I'm at the gym to lift, not to hang out. I had to tell off my friend who used to chat chat chat chat and we'd barely do anything in the hour we're there. I'll just deadlift 4 pl8s in solitude, let people mire me, and mire others. If they *usually wiminz) catch me mirin, I look away.

why the frick would you want to socialize when you're supposed to be working out? imagine replacing lifting with running, it's clear that you're not getting a good lift in if you're treating it as a social occasion.

I'm not autistic, it's autistic to not understand social contexts like
        >when people are occupied, don't talk to them
the gym is a place where people are occupied because they're doing something. It's the same shit as autismos not understanding that headphones mean don't talk to that person.

I smile at the front desk staff, and say hi if they're not occupied as I walk in/out. Other than that I specifically avoid the gaze of every other person while at the gym.

you don't mire other lifts? i mire and avert eye contact if they look at me. but i also pay close attention to the noobs who look like they're gonna injure themselves. once stepped in and saved some moron's life from a failed bench

I socialize at work, with friends, when I do hobbies... I go to the gym to lift. I've literally talked to people I see inside the gym when I see them at the grocery store or smth but when I get to the gym; my music is on and I just want to push some weights. The gym is actually the only place I'm anti-social because majority of the time I'm annoyed that people are on equipment I want to use, especially because 99% of the time they aren't putting up respectable numbers and literally just wasting time.

Who the frick wants to socialize at the gym lmao. Do y'all really not have friends and shit?
