>TLDR: hit 1pl8 press 2 pl8 bench, get lean, then stop pouring time into marginal gains. Picrel is all you should aim for.
I’m 22. I’ve through my bodybuilding phase, though I still see YouTube shorts recommended to be daily which preach about how honorable going to the gym is. It’s really not.
Anyone can put on muscle, even total retards. Look at George Floyd and how jacked he was, yet he contributed nothing to society. Bodybuilding is a low-class, low-intelligence means of feeling like you’ve achieved something.
If you want to feel accomplished and productive, instead apply yourself fully to your academic field. Or learn a language/other skill. If you’ve already achieved respectable gains, any more “research” you put into bodybuilding is a waste of time.
I wasted a lot of my college years hyper fixated on bodybuilding, and I was never satisfied. Bodybuilding all but ensures body dysmorphia, so as long as the gym is a big part of your life, you’ll be chasing the end of a rainbow.
It’s good to be fit, but being a jacked meathead does nothing for your job prospects. You should never EVER skip class for the gym, even if you think the class is stupid. True motivation is doing things that you DON’T like, not things you do.
Ok

you were never a real bodybuilder, you're just a child chasing trends

That guy has super wide shoulders. If you're like me and have a tiny frame with wide hips the threshold for being aesthetic is quite high
>It’s good to be fit, but being a jacked meathead does nothing for your job prospects.
>muh job muh career muh work
I feel so sorry for people stuck in this mindset,
>thinking everyone on IST is a bodybuilder
>not happinessmaxxing
>not goodlifemaxxing
going to the gym is not about lifting the heaviest weight
it's about having a healthy and desirable body
it shouldn't have this effect on me,
but do you know how much weekly / daily mires increased my confidence?
I would never be where I wanted to be academically if it wasn't for the lifting
I would have given up
lifting is just one component of many for goodlifemaxxing
but it's an essential and necessary one
I could ohp 1 plate before I could even bench 185.

Real TL:DR; you should aim to be better than you were, constantly. If you think some arbitrary and rather weak goal is where you should stay at forever, you're an idiot child who will not just settle into mediocrity but also slide into failure later in life then start making more absolute cope excuses as to why your new lowered standard is "all you need."
>Look at George Floyd and how jacked he was, yet he contributed nothing to society
George Floyd had more influence on society than you ever will
>you need to develop your mind so you can make goldbergstein more shekels
Life is about more than a job. I work a wage slave job and am extremely poor, but I love bodybuilding, it gives me something to look forward to every day. Why should everything be about getting a better job? I’d rather be poor and enjoying life.
So you do P90X?
X me baby!!!
just to be clear - morons dont have a worry about future so they all blast steroids like there is no tomorrow, thats why a lot of them have gyno tits

Maybe if you're average or short height. You ain't looking like shit with a 1pl8 ohp and 2pl8 bench when over 6ft with long arms
You don’t enjoy the process?
You don’t like being healthy and strong?
I think you see fit life as a burden, you don’t enjoy it much or at all. Surely you understand that not everyone feels the same way as you, right?
Some people go to work and school, do a great job and also workout. What do you you do with your time other than studying, reading, working etc? Don’t tell me consume media and socialize for 4 hours a day everyday.
