Well healthcare coverage is good albeit a bit expensive
And rents are really low compared to the USA ones. I don't even need a car here, guess if kids come along this might change

healthcare coverage in the usa is good too. most people have it. my hospital is tremendously efficient, really modern.

if you work any kind of skill job you can come over here and have a way better life, just so you know. shockingly, i know a german AI programmer who makes the equivalent of about 70k a year..he'd make $220k or so here

Sounds nice, how much he has to throw for the rent?
Car and food would be an addition but that is not an issue with that salary
I have 68k eur a year right now
Even 150k would be freaking amazing, if the rent is jot like 4k

            >Sounds nice, how much he has to throw for the rent?

not cheap, equivalent USD $2000 or so. lives in a nice area. he has a cheap used car that is paid off, but he only uses it for leisure trips. i envy that a lot.

we don't want to use public transportation really but the fact that our country is SO HOSTILE to just WALKING. and you see that a lot of the people here have been brainwashed into thinking walking is bad lol. that's not a commonly held opinion. the people who come to /misc/ are crazy and represent a tiny subset of mostly economic loser americans

all skilled jobs pay more in US than EU, and US money is worth respectively more, prices of goods are lower even after vicious profiteering "inflation" last two years. if you have health insurance from your job and don't live in the ghetto of washington dc or baltimore or something, you will inevitably experience better medical care than what is typically offered in european hospitals.

europeans also tend to have this misperception that our medical care is bad somehow...our medical care is objectively world best which is why world leaders travel here for cancer treatments and etc. this is actually measurable-- the US has the world's highest clearance rate of childhood cancers, indicating that when the most possible variables are removed about lifestyle, resources, etc, patients receive the highest standard of care in this country.

btw, when children have cancer, etc, all treatment is always free in situations like that.
