How much can I expect to suffer from lasik? I can't can any water or sweat in my eyes or bounce around but I need to train for cross country.

Don't listen to him, anon. Lasik complications are so incredibly rare it's not even worth thinking about.

Did PRK and it was the best thing I ever spent money on. Lasik was too much of a risk with BJJ/wrestling.

Lasik has a one week period where the flap can reopen if pressure is applied to the eye, and you should not do anything that might get pressure/debris in your eye during that time. Also, the time for it to close back up is variable from person to person.
      T. Got lasik 4 years ago, absolutely no ragrets.

Dude, why would you even risk it. Literally take a week off. Getting eye infections are no joke.

You just had eye surgery, but you "have to train for cross country?" Whats more important, cross country, or your eyesight? [spoiler]don't answer that[spoiler]

This was my other question. Take a few days off. Why are people so insane about having to train all the time? Enjoy the rest week and do some yoga if you need to move so bad. If you're consistent and disciplined you know getting sick/surgery/life stuff is only a temporary detractor. Get right back to it when you can.

Trans-PRK is a better option. No Flap and leaves room for repoerations as its more conservative in the amount of the stroma being removed

I was back after two weeks, but I was lifting at about 50% my usual weights and had a cap on at all times. Obviously with stuff like swimming and combat sports it might take a hell of a lot more to recover, perhaps six months
    >durr don't get LASIK
The only real "side effect" I've ever suffered was increased sensitivity to bright lights at night. First couple of months after, I would walk out of films and plays with migraines and ended up maneuvering with sunglasses on at night. Even that's gotten much better now, though. Also sometimes vision might correct to greater acuity, I quite literally went from -5 to 20/10
