Training Ambidexterity

has anyone here ever trained for ambidexterity? is this even a good idea? google is saying it may frick with brain lateralization, but wasting 2/4 limbs seems pretty fricked as well - surely the ultimate life form would have mastery over its entire form, and that's why we're all here right?

I was a lefty and got beat in school by the nuns to be a righty because satan
I'm not ambidextrous I just do some things with my left and some things with my right
e.g. I play guitar as a lefty but I write with my right

I tried that when I was a kid. There is no reason to do this though. I think you could put time on better things like studying, learning a new language, engaging on some sport or whatever

Being left handed for writing is objectively sub-optimal because English is written left to right.

I consider anyone who isn't ambidextrous to be disabled. Watching them do things makes it very apparent that their off hand is literally moronic.

    this subject interests me
im lefty on hand but right on foot and eye, also do some things like smoking and shooting with my right hand
how does one train for this?

Seems pointless. What do you need a second agile hand for? People do very few things that require minute precision even since keyboards made writing obsolete

I've been periodically writing with my left hand on the left side of the book, and my right hand on the right side,I've noticed more overall muscle control/symettry and mental focus,I'm almost able to write as quickly as I can on my right hand now, should take a few more months, when I just started out it took me half an hour to write a single sentence with my left hand.

alright I'm stealing this, also brushing my teeth with my left
WHAT ELSE GENTLEMEN THERE ARE GAINS BEING LEFT ON THE TABLE HERE, WHO HAS A RIGHTY LEFTY BRAIN PERFECTY ROUTINE?

Started when I was a teen for shits and giggles, even as far as writing two sentences with both hands at once (gave me headaches, don't recommend). This is on a background of already being sorta ambidextrous.

Only daily life effect is that I accomplish stuff a little faster (don't need to reach for something with my right hand, can use my left just fine). When I'm grappling not having a true weak side is a pretty decent advantage though.

double sentences might be something big here
is this a way to hack the laterality of your brain and achieve true synergy instead of mere turn-taking? are we talking legit hemisphere tulpas here?

No idea what you're talking about with tulpas. It's still difficult with fine motor skills but I can definitely use both hands independently while grappling to advance position

tupla is a separate personality you create within your own mind
considering that the actual structure of the brain is more like two competing brains (left and right hemispheres) than one cohesive one, what you're describing could be a shortcut to fully separating them or rearranging their combination
the grappling bit seems useful too

would this work with keyboards? could you just hook up two and start working that way? I need a split training program for my brain

I'm right handed and footed, but I always try and do things with my left hand when I can. Even small things like turning the blinds with my left hand instead of right, manipulating an apple that I'm eating with my left hand. Those little fine movements that you take for granted with your dominant hand I try and do with my left as well.

Hell, I even tried trying my shoes in opposite directions. Whichever why you tie your right shoe, do the exact opposite pathway for the left shoe.

Like playing an instrument, I suspect it will increase neural connections or some shit. Probably not to the same degree that learning violin would, but I'm sure there are some benefits.

adding shoe tying it to the repository, velcro chads will have to visualise it instead
