In the morning I have a pan full of bacon (I get about a pound and a third and that's good for one week) and 4 eggs. For lunch I have a third of a pound of pepperoni or the same weight in venison sticks, both sometimes with mozarella. For dinner it's a pound of sosig or burgers or sone other red meat. I also snack on raw yogurt with honey, exotic cheeses, or wienertail weenies, and I drink a gallon of raw milk a day, everyday.

I don't have stats on the actual milk I drink since I get it from a local farm, but I imagine that raw milk would have higher fat/calorie content than pasteurized whole milk. It definitely tastes sweeter and less "diluted" if that makes sense.

Holstein cows have milk with higher lactose and lower milk fat. Also higher water content. Most commercial fairies are using Holsteins, but if you try you can find dairy farms with specialty breeds fairly easily. Most common dairy cow breed in the EU is also the Holstein, but Ayrshires, Normandés, Jerseys, and Swiss cattle make up higher percentages of the herds.

                Anonymous

Milk fat percentage depends on the breed of cow and the cow’s diet/body composition. Most American dairy cows are Holsteins, which have lower milk fat than Jerseys or Brown Swiss.

Start tracking again. Since you stopped actually tracking I bet your estimations have steadily gone down because you're going to be following your natural appetite much more. You think you're having 1/3rd a pound of something because of how you perceive it and your natural appetite/satiety is affecting that

Are you doing keto on purpose? If not, add in white rice and some veg. Also, I’d recommend putting a typical day of your diet (actually measure everything, don’t guess) into my fitness pal to see what your actual calories and macros are. Depending on your activity level and bodyweight, there is a chance you’re under eating still but likelihood is that you’re underestimating how much you are actually eating. Other than that, you may not have been on the diet long enough to see changes in weight. Weigh yourself daily at the same time and look at how your weight is trending overall.

Keto is a diet where you don’t eat carbs and get all your calories from protein (meat) and fat (butter etc). It sounds like you’re new to fit dieting so would recommend basing your bulk diet on unprocessed meat, fruit/veg, eggs, carbs (white rice is good for bulking), good fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts)

              Anonymous

              >It sounds like you’re new to fit dieting

                Anonymous

Oh I thought that because your diet and justification for it is quite unusual. Also because you don’t know what keto is even though it’s pretty well known in fitness circles. No worries though the advice I gave is still relevant.

bulking is a psyop, the more you eat the more you age for some extra water in your muscles. lift less and eat 30 calorie suprlus and you will be fine

        Anonymous

The issue is that all the protein you're eating is increasing your metabolic rate, especially when it's the first thing you eat in the morning. With a diet like that and no exercise, you'll need significantly more calories for maintenance than the average person.

          Which is it?

In general ‘fast metabolism’ is a meme. However, there is some evidence that suggests that excess calories from protein don’t contribute to weight gain as much as calories from carbs and fat so, with your unusual diet (calories coming mainly from protein), it is possible that the calorie excess isn’t having as much of an effect as it would if your diet had a more typical macro split. This is less likely though. It is much more likely that you are overestimating your calories. Another thing to consider is injury/illness. Being ill/injured increases your TDEE.

Somewhat relevant question: I read that a human needs at least 20 calories per pound of bodyweight to gain muscle. At my bodyweight that would mean I need to consume 3600 calories a day. Isn't that way too much? When I was bulking on 3200 calories I gained a ton of fat, which I took to mean that I was eating at enough of a surplus.

Scenario 1 (more likely): You aren't eating as much as you think. Just add more yogurt and peanut butter to protein shakes.

Scenario 2 (less likely): CICO works but a potential problem is that your diet before and after you started your fitness journey has already had a huge impact on what exactly your required intake or burn rate should be. Those Biggest Loser people have to be at insane deficits for a long time because their diets were so horrendous that their hormones were completely fricked. Your problem would thankfully not that bad by comparison in this scenario. It probably means you ate decently enough to begin with.
