Your first mistake was coming back here. Sounds like you escaped why did you come back? This place is 100x worse than the squat and oats days hell this whole site is worse.

There is no escape. We take breaks, some longer than others. But the only true way out is in a box.

Yeah I can't believe how bad it is since coming back. There used to be tons of knowledgeable posters here.

Ubiqitous mobile phone access made this place and the entire internet shit. It's all zoomers and moron third worlders now, not to mention women. I used to post here during the Zyzz days and would also cross post to misc and today doesn't even compare. You can't even ask a serious question here anymore without some homosexual fricking autist zoomer who has never done anything outside of video games let alone been punched in his homosexual mouth during a fist fight getting all moronic and austistic on you trying to have a snarky remark which he believes is the world's greatest own. I literally just shit on incels and blackpilled doomers. I'm not coming back.

Do you even remember shut up and train? Fatlifts?

How did IST have better advice a decade ago?

Once we had books. They didn't get published very often because they were expensive and they were generally well researched and referenced.

Then along came the internet and everyone was a publisher. But what made it worse was that everyone was competing for clicks so they had to embellish things sand make it different.

So the further we go into the internet age the further we get from the unadulterated truth. IST these days is full of people who learned everything they know from vshred.

We would unironically post studies, experiment and try to lift everyone up. Everything had a grassroots DIY feel. Like I mentioned

Ubiqitous mobile phone access made this place and the entire internet shit. It's all zoomers and moron third worlders now, not to mention women. I used to post here during the Zyzz days and would also cross post to misc and today doesn't even compare. zoomers and third worlders ruined the internet. All of IST was higher IQ back then in general. Now it's just a bunch of coomers and edgy 14 year olds who want to say Black person.

IST is now it's just TikTok tier shit and "XYZ influencer said this!"

you've taken a break so you can't lift as much

you're a bit older so your potential is a bit reduced

that's literally it. shut up and lift.

Nope. He became a literal couch potato and sat around eating for 20 years and now he wonders why he can't lift

That doesn't really make any sense. Were you being a literal couch potato for a decade(s)? I haven't squatted in maybe 10 years because of injuries but i know i could squat 165kg easily. Back in the day at 17 i was squatting 5 plates for reps. I know i could do 4 plates even today. You just gotta stay active my man. If you built a foundation and stay active you wont lose strength

            > delusion

Is this some sort of cope? I just said i did 5 plates at 17. If you stay active with a foundation you DO NOT lose strength. Maybe our generations were just built different. In my day guys were full T. Nowadays the average guy looks like a twink

Im not fricking underaged. Im older than you. How the frick would you guys know how much i could squat? Im telling you, you dont lose strength as long as you're active. Like i said i did 5 plates at 17 for reps, i know for sure i could do 4 plates now. And the only reason i cant do 5 plates is because of injury. 10 years ago i did 750 raw for 3

Yeah, even if you lifted for 20 years consistently I'm not sure you could just lift the same weight an olympic lifter trains years to lift. Thats 200lbs away from the current world record, sort of hard to believe.

You just gotta take everything literally twice as slowly as you could when you were young - being patient and consistent will pay off ahead of trying to force the gains of yesteryear

I came back to the gym after a 7 year break, and it took 1 year to get back to my prior level of strength, 455 squat at 30.
