    >decide to be vegan
    >people ignorantly offer you meat
    >say "can't eat that, for my health"
    >if they press on, bullshit about hypertension or risk of diabetes
    >bring your own food
it's that easy, calling yourself vegan is like walking half naked in india

Its really easy. Consume homemade strictly vegetarian food 90% of the time. When you are eating out eat meat like everyone else. This way you don't inconvenience other people you are eating out with and get non-substandard food at the same time. But you are only allowed to eat out once every week to maintain that lifestyle

Then just eat at home. Chickpeas and hummus, lentils, red & black beans, soya, and tofu for protein. Rice for base. Please use spices.

We need more vegetarians in this country because I'm getting tired of how bad everyone is at making meals that don't use meat. It's either disgusting slop like pic related or just a whole grain with literally nothing else and barely any seasoning. The only decent exception being cold borscht.

dont be too hard on your cuisine, that dish looks like smth i see at family gatherings here and stuff feeding lots of ppl

I used to be vegetarian. Then I tried going vegan. Now I'm back to eating meat and dairy.

Don't tell people you are vegetarian and dont inconvenience them with it. If they offer you anything with meat, just say you're full or don't want it, etc. Normal answer. Nobody will care then.

Btw, I worked in Poland for a while and it was similar with kosher food. People will be annoyed if you're picky, tell that you only eat specific food and remove you from the "eating out"-meetings. However, if you just act normal about it and just say you don't want it or will eat something else, they're actually more prone to actually specifically make sure the food is for you too because they want to do you a favor. Though ofc if you expect and demand it, it won't happen

I stopped drinking alcohol when I was 18. Alcohol doesn't get me drunk, not even huge amounts of it.
When I got into university, I regularly had to defend myself for not drinking beer or other alcoholic drinks. "What's wrong with you, Anon? Are you sick??? Or are you from a weird religion??"

It's better these days. So much tolerance has been shoved down our throats against our will that someone who doesn't drink alcohol appears somewhat normal in comparison.

I don't drink because it doesn't make me feel good/I have some intolerance to it and never experienced that at uni, I met a lot of young people that don't drink. People over 50 though can't imagine not drinking and struggle to get their head around it though.

        >I don't drink because it doesn't make me feel good
Me, I used to get outright depressed back when I drunk. At a party I would leave the others and sit alone in a corner, brooding. And back home I couldn't get to sleep somehow. In school, peer pressure was still going on, but at one point I thought what good does this do me and just stopped drinking alcohol.
So I can relate. But I also know how it is not being understood.

How do you define animals? Why should you avoid hurting them for food?

Okay imagine everyone gave up meat eating. Cows would cease to exist. So like anti natalism, the argument ends with the assumption that non existence is preferable
Vegetarianism only makes sense if you go all the way like jainists.
I also don't see why there wouldn't be a moral imperative, from their own pov, to prevent animal suffering in nature

          >Cows would cease to exist.
Implying millions of people would stop drinking milk or eating cheese at the same time.

Dairy and meat industry are linked.
Those dairy animals get killed once they stop producing. Live stock owners have every incentive to slaughter dairy cows
Your point is also irrelevant because most dairy cows don't live in good conditions

Dairy cows anywhere are slaughtered. Them being out in a field doesn't change the fact they will eventually be killed

              Anonymous

Also more to the point the cows that are raised purely to slaughter would still cease to exist. So the end point of vegetarianism is to help cows by aiding in their own extinction. A bit strange
Unless you are actively trying to buy lands that cows can roam free on and live happily then I don't see the point

Thirdies eating massive quantities of meat and firsties increasingly going vegetarian/vegan will eventually cause humanity to diverge into two separate species, just like in The Time Machine.

Vegan hysteria is making people unhealthy, especially old people that listen to social media.
It is genuinely a health hazard and national security threat at this point. I see people aging at a faster rate and falling apart due to vitamin B deficiency because "experts" on TV or on facebook/tiktok said veganism makes you immortal, and eating cheese and meat gives cancer.
Now you get ruptured muscles, weak muscles and not being able to walk.

And I'm going to sound like a schizo "butthurt belter" but 90% of the time the bio-eco-vegan freaks that spear the whole food hysteria are also some sort of pro-Russia/anti-West gays.

To summarize, why veganism morally makes no sense:
    1. If vegans are concerned about animal suffering -> This implies that killing animals in a non-suffering way is acceptable.
    2. If vegans are concerned about the inherent value of animal lives -> Why just animals? Why don't plant and bacterial life matter? Aren't insects considered animals? How do they feel about natural food chains?

Also, clearing space for vegan crops also kills a lot of natural plants and animals and destroys their habitat.
