Can confirm. Served in the army and currently Navy which I'm releasing from now. On a monthly basis we get mandatory online training on either trannies, nigs, unconcious bias, or insert any other npc topic.

Everything we have is literally falling apart and they can't keep guys with half a brain cell in but theyre pushing to recruit more rainbow people and pajeets but even they don't want join.

what are your military's benefits like leafbro? Do you also getting housing loans when you complete your contract?

          Anonymous

Americans get paid way worse than us, but their benefits are way better. Your health and dental are fully covered but the health coverage is kind of weird. Every bodies health insurance here gets you shit like massages and whatnot. For us, you need a referral and basically already be fricked up - no real preventative type stuff.

We get a ton of time off. For Christmas, I used 10 annual days and got like a month off; they use all these special leave days and stuff for something we call block leave. Usually gets used in the summer too to give you another 3 weeks off.

If you serve 6 years, you can get $40k for school from VA, 12 years can get you $80k. While you're in, there's a program called ILP which you can use to take night classes or online classes or whatever which you can work on in your own time but you can get quite a bit a value out of it.

That being said, the day to day is largely shit. Our training has gone to trash and the workload has blown up due to lack of numbers and just shitty old equipment. Of course, mileage may vary depending on what your trade/moc is.

From my experience, anybody with half decent level of intelligence gets sick of it within a couple of years and either leaves or stays and gets miserable because they have a ton of debt and a materialistic wife or they've been divorced twice. The only "lifers" left are pretty well useless and just puppet whatever the Libs tell them from Ottawa while ignoring all of the actual real problems.

Oh and postings in Canada fricking suck. You're either in some backwoods base (which can be okay) but theres no women around or much shit to do it in general. Or you're in a city where cost of living eats half or more of your pay. I make decent money but where I live I can literally never afford to own a house despite making close to 6 figures.

They tell you where you live. You could be getting all comfy in one posting and enjoy the base you're at and 3 years later you could be at an armpit.

Huh. That's interesting I always thought the leaf army would have better benefits than us because Canada already has subsidized healthcare and all.

I heard from a friend in the leaf army that you can basically leave anytime regardless of your contract and that they let you switch professions pretty easily. Like even an infantry can request to get something in cyber or intel. How is that also do you ever get comfy overseas postings like

Depends on your trade and the time of the year/which unit you're with for taking leave. Doing frick all, yeah go take time off. Your boat just came out of refit and you have a deployment in 3 months - yeah, you aren't getting leave. Also the switching trades thing is stupidly difficult. You have to assemble an ungodly amount of paperwork which then goes through your chain of command with your choices of 3 other trades you'd rather be. A lot of the paperwork stops here - your supervisors will say they're handling it but it mysteriously gets "lost".

Also, the guys who process this paperwork (Personnel selection officers) only do in-take once a year so if you miss the deadline you're waiting another year. If you get it in on time, you're going to wait 8ish months to hear back if you're approved because they can certainly deny it.

If you're in a very undermanned trade and want to go to a decently manned one, they will deny it. Then you have to retrain. From the day you hand in the paperwork to being trained to a somewhat usuable level you're looking at like a 2 year process or more.

                Ay a fellow leafbro.
                >If you're in a very undermanned trade and want to go to a decently manned one, they will deny it
Currently in infantry. What would the likelihood of me being able to switch to intel, sigint or cyber op? And What's the paperwork? From what I've gathered it's a memo and a form indicating your 3 choices and indicating that you have to stay after your occupational transfer for 6 years. Is there still time? I know the take in is a couple of weeks after winter break but others have been saying march

                Anonymous

Int op might be harder but sigint is hurting I think. Also, I think for this year all trades are open for transfers...they're using it for retention. Best bet is to reach out to your BPSO on base. They'll hook you up with all the forms. The memo starts it, but then there's some paperwork you need to fill out.

The deadline was in October or November I think actually. However, I've heard rumors they're taking applications this summer as well.

                Anonymous

yeah I hope it's not too late for me to transfer out of infantry. Also since we're hurting for recruits and suffering retention problems they're more likely to accept my application. btw for transfering to they interview you with specific career related questions or just general questioning as to why you want to switch. Like I don't have a a degree or prior experience in anything sig/int related or cyber

                Anonymous

When I switched elements/trades it was just if you knew anything basic about your new trade. If you say you reached out to a few people in that trade to get some information, the interviewer will eat that shit up.

alright thanks bro. Btw could you divulge into how long it takes from your first meeting with the selections office and writing the memo to them actually compiling your application? Like will they give you all the paperwork right after your first meeting

              Anonymous

As for overseas postings, they aren't that common for us. Some trades are more likely to get them and it's mostly higher ranking people. Apparently, since our budget is fricked they're dialling back on them big time. We don't have bases anywhere like the Americans so it's not easy to get at all. I've only met like 3 guys in 10 years who've been posted overseas. One was a signals operator, one supply guy and a MP.

We do get some extra money if you live in a more expensive place (not everyone gets it) but it's honestly frick all. I get like an extra $300 after tax a month which doesn't even cover my food here.

We do have some military housing but nowhere near enough. Waitlists are literally years long - if you're not married and don't have kids, youll never get one.

I wouldn't join, man. There's been news across the country of new recruits living out of their cars, being told to go to habit for humanity or food banks just to survive because of the cost of living here.

    >t. Veteran
I recommend it for the long term success. The benefits are like having a sugar daddy. Having my career school completely paid for + getting a housing allowance, + disability check every month, + my normal job that already pays my bills is so nice. After I’m done with my apprenticeship in July, I’m using my VA homeloan to buy a house and finally settle into the American Dream I’ve been wanting my whole life.

You don’t have to love the cause. Most jobs in the military are basically like normal jobs youd find as a civillian (fixing vehicles, office admin shit, etc). The extra things that come with the lifestyle like PT, room inspections, etc. can be a drag, but it’s something that builds character. And you’ll learn to hold yourself accountable and appreciate your life when you’re out.

It’s not for everyone, but if you want the challenge it’ll improve your life significantly.

Once you’re out, you can apply for disability which is basically injuries you’ve got while you served. The VA rates your injuries based off of how significant it will affect your life when you are out. I cleaned a lot of little things (sleep apnea, bad knees, depression, etc) and got a 70% rating, which is $1529 every month. And it goes up every year with inflation and cost of living adjustments.

Interesting. I have some follow-up questions, if you would be so kind
Do they check for pre-existing conditions?
Do they do regular checks afteryou quit?
          How strictare the checks?
I have all 3 of those you mentioned, and more but can hide symptoms to some extent.
1.5k is more than I spend in a month, after I've inherited my folks old house.

            > Do they check for pre-existing conditions?
Yes, before you enter you do a full med screen. Most people (per their recruiters advice) lie about preexisting conditions, because it makes the process easier and some things could get you disqualified from entering (without a lot of paperwork). If it doesn’t affect you, better to just say no and then when you get out say the military caused it
            >Do they do regular checks afteryou quit?
It’s possible, I haven’t heard it though. If they do, pretty much just say that the conditions are the same, if not worse. If you get some doctors appointments, you might even be able to get your % increased
            >How strictare the checks?
When you apply for disability, they assign you an appointment to talk to a doctor and they’ll go over the things you claimed. I’m not saying this is what you should do (wink), but better to exaggerate your symptoms. They don’t officially diagnose you, but rather recommend the VA pay out for your particular symptoms and then the VA will take all their notes and everything and compile a %for you.

So not that guy but I - as a tax paying US citizen - do not approve. Setting aside the individual preference for personal gain, lying about disabilities is ethically, morally, and financially wrong. Instead of protecting the Constitution as the military and service members are sworn to do you are making a mockery of its values for personal gain. By lying and exaggerating illnesses and symptoms of illnesses, you are making the military establishment vulnerable to heavy-handed reform in the future to eliminate the fraud you are committing within it. There are many US citizens who work very hard for a living; their hard work is supporting your fraud with little to no benefit to him as a citizen and taxpayer.

You - in your own selfish way - are paving our road straight to hell.

Have fun getting the vax and being passed up over a homosexual Black person woman when you eventually become a POW to a country that actually cares about masculinity and the future of their own people. The only military that I am joining is the one that forces invaders from our home.

Interval Aerobic Run from the Army https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CSJoiFxrzA
I can make it to level 3 before dying.

      Run 2.4 miles

      30 crunches
      30 hand release pushups
      Plank - 1 minute and 30 seconds
      Bent-Leg Raise - 60 seconds
      20 Side Kicks
      20 Leg Raises
      20 Flutter Kicks

      20 Dumbbell Squats
      20 Dumbbell Supine Chest Presses
      20 Dumbbell Bench Presses

For starters, go Air Force if you're not moronic. You can Google the physical fitness standards for men; it's broken down by age groups.

        Your only concerns are:

        >1.5 mile run time
        >Push-ups you can do in 60 seconds
        >Sit-ups you can do in 60 seconds

Just make sure you can do the bare minimum values to pass before going to basic training. 2 months at basic + the fear of failing the final PT test will be enough to ensure you get through just fine.

I can pass the ACFT minimums except for running, but that's not good enough.
I want to be in the Army, I'm a STEMcel going for officer.

Nothing is gonna help your running except running more and maybe shedding some pounds. Running is 90% mental.

The worst part about the American military is that even despite all the bullshit homosexualry it's still way more effective than any other military on the planet.

Son has downs syndrome? Good. Now you can't keep candy in the house. Dad is gay? Good. Now you have an interior decorator in the family. Wife cheated on you? Good. Now you don't have to pay alimony. Federal Reserve devalues your retirement? Good. Now you have nothing to lose.

To expand on the spinelessness, at least up here the more ass you kiss the easier it is to go up in rank. You could be completely incompetent at your actual job but oh, you're in 3 different bullshit working groups, you play hockey with the CO - perfect...fast track that man.

There's also zero accountability once you reach senior ranks. They fire off moronic ideas, the lower ranks bear the brunt of it despite knowing it won't work and when it doesn't work, the higher ups who came up with it deny any responsibility and lose their shit on the lower guys.

Also, in the Canadian military, particularly the navy there's pretty much a culture of mediocrity which has seeped over from our shitty society. I'll use my lunch breaks to workout, go for a run or whatever or go train before work in the morning and deny shitty food at the mess and people think I'm fricking crazy. If you take your fitness mildly seriously, you're seen as some weirdo.

Have hobbies outside of drinking, eating goyslop and consooooming Disney content and people think you're some alien or some shit.

Truth is, the majority of the Canadian military is content to show up, do frick all, collect glorified welfare and then constantly b***h while their lives are shit.

Two adult men fricking each others' buttholes consensually is completely different that an adult male raping a child's booty. Stop being moronic.

      >There's no race quota to found companies.
But there is a race quota to hire in them, you moronic israelite rat

      >Bakke, 438 U.S. 265, 324 (1978). OFCCP's affirmative action regulations expressly forbid the use of quotas or set asides, provide no legal justification for a contractor to extend preferences on the basis of a protected status, and do not supersede merit selection principles.
No, there isn't you dumb frick. Don't speak when adults are talking anymore.

Life goes a little more harmoniously with this kind of attitude unironically. Life is like playing a roguelike and less like a sandbox game. Even if you up and move your depressed ass somewhere else, you're still depressed with the same decision making routine and you'll fall into familiar grooves there too. You can literally choose not to be mad. You can literally hold your tears and trade your years for a glimpse at kingdom come and not be mad about it.
