        Makes me jittery
        Gives me anxiety
        Makes me eat more
        Terrible sleep
        Crash and burn daily
Headaches if I take more than usual or at a different time

Last time I withdrew, I went to a place so dark I thought I'd legit developed depression

I'm sure it's fine for some, maybe even most. But I can't do it anymore.

I dont know this gay says about caffeine. If used correctly it's pretty much the best performance enhancing drug there is. Your focus and energy will be much higher for the couple hours after you take it. You don't even need a high dose, 50mg -70mg is fine. Ideally you should not be taking it everyday as well, and also exercising without caffeine.

he says caffeine is so good its basically a vitamin, and to drink a lot of it daily, aslong as it goes with adequate food and sugar, there are a bunch of studies showing coffee drinkers have less mental illness and heart disease and some cancer, alzheimers i think.

The dose makes the poison and I don’t think Ray would say to drink more than six cups, which is typically where the negative side effects kick in iirc

only fricks me up if I have too much in a short period of time. I don't remember his thoughts on what dosage is good. but if I spread out my cuppa by at least 1 hour I can drink 3+ even into the afternoon without impacting sleep.
I put 2 tbsp sugar in each cuppa though. and usually have a cup of milk before or after.

In my experience, I need to eat a lot of calories for it to have a beneficial effect. Some milk and sugar isn't enough, it has to be a full meal.

I do recall him being an advocate of needing to increase nutrient intake when you take metabolism stimulating substances, like caffeine. which makes sense if your metabolism is higher you burn through nutrients faster.

damn, now I understand what girls mean by the "ick"
for some reason using that word seems emmasculating/homosexual - like "stay at home dad" feel

They are so intense that they can lead me to prolonged anxiety states, they can last months.

Nah I love cold raw milk with instant coffee, coconut oil, raw honey and gelatin.
I reduce the amount of coffee and coconut oil in it as day moves forward. By 8pm I'm just drinking milk with honey so I take a scoop of ice cream to sleep like a baby.

Why the frick would you want to consume a drug regularly, that gives your body low-key stress 24/7.
    Caffeine is a moronic drug

    Well it's a bit nuanced.

Caffeine is actually pretty good for your liver.
It also boosts metabolism in the short-term at the cost of long-term.
So in Ray Peat's "optimize the metabolic rate" perspective, caffeine is a good thing.

But he doesn't take into consideration more psychological factors like, (1) most people using caffeine get lower quality and quantity of sleep, (2) relationships and social life often go down hill because stims shut down emotions while expanding the ego.
