It’s better than sitting on your phone for hours not talking to anyone

In the 90s yeah we kinda did, but really only because the tv told us too.

To be fair it's still kinda comfy even in the corporate ones. About a year ago a shrink suggested I go to a Barnes and Noble and order a coffee and just sit around for an hour. I scoffed at him when he said it and questioned whether that even still existed. But turns out they do and it's still pretty comfy.

you really think he suggested it, because it would help you? sounds more like weak parents giving their small children a smartphone to distract them.

        >this is IST so every reply has to be mean and negative
It seems like a good suggestion. Perhaps abon was feeling lonely or anxious or socially awkward. An hour in a calm public space with a variety of people to observe and watch seems like a really good suggestion. To B&N anon, I hope you're feeling better. Have a nice day!

          >suggesting to consoom, instead of introspection to understand the need for the shrink in the first place
of course he doesn't want you to get better, but to keep you coming back. a simple 2-3 hour walk in the forest on a sunny day would actually improve anyone's "mental health".
          >An hour in a calm public space with a variety of people to observe and watch seems like a really good suggestion.
to a sociopathic redditor maybe. this is the same as taking meds, it's fighting the symptoms, so that one feels better. when the symptoms resurface, the need for "help" comes back - it's a vicious cycle.

I did this every weekend. Just sit and watch ppl wandering around and sitting in front of their coffee with their friends but not looking anywhere except their phone. Kinda hilarious and sad at the same time we as species got into this much mess because of 'smart' phone.

I skip a lot of Frasier episodes because the scenarios make me cringe. Not cringe awful quality acting script etc. Cringe anxious. Like when Frasier loaned money to Roz and he later learned she went to a spa, that made me feel cringe anxious embarrassed and I didn't want to experience the eventual awkward tense confrontation so I stopped watching that episode. Am I the only one who feels anxious cringe in a lot of Frasier episodes?

There is cringe in Frasier but I never skip an episode, the only one I do is Radio Wars

What level of autism is required to get anxious watching a tv show lmao dude go outside please

I haven't been diagnosed but yeah I think I am autistic. Is autism hereditary? I think my father is also autistic.

most sitcoms are like 20-30 mins per episode and only a fraction of that takes place in a coffee shop

most sitcoms are just 2-3 sets (a domestic, social and work) they need to keep moving between to prevent audiences getting bored of the same one
