Water fucking sucks

According to you guys I can't lose weight because I "drink all my calories."

I drink water all day which isn't bad when I'm working but at the end of the day I just want to smoke a couple bowls and drink a quart of lemonade; 400 calories; instead of bland fricking water. What is the fricking point of losing weight and getting in shape if you don't get to enjoy anything? Weed and lemonade is probably the only thing stopping me from putting a bullet in my head at this point.

        Wanting to get to a halfway healthy weight so I don't develop diabetes or have heart issues in the future; which my doctor said is a distinct possibility if I don't start making changes now.

        I'm off soda, have pizza once a month now and down 60 lbs but it doesn't change the fact I'm still 280 lbs. The goal is 220 and I've been at 280 for four months now. What's the point of this suffering I'm putting myself through if I literally can't have anything good ever again?

                I don't get what's so hard to understand? You're drinking a 400 calorie drink everyday, maybe do extra cardio to make up for it. If you reach your goal and get to a point where you are healthy you can eat whatever the frick you want as long as you make up for it calorie-wise exercising.                 You're allowed to do whatever the frick after your exercise, you don't have to do it all day. You already bike and walk, just do it for another 30-45 minutes a day. If you're on a time crunch, up the intensity.

          I am a sugar addict trying to break off from soda(I am on a diet but the one bad thing I haven't gotten rid of is soda). I eat about 1500 calories a day and drink 500 calories of soda(one with each meal). I'm still losing weight since I'm exercising and was previously a huge fatass but it's going to be tough to eliminate the soda. It does frustrate me because I could be losing an extra pound a week if I just got rid of it.

          Anyways, just giving my backstory because I would also rather drink water than reduced sugar stuff, diet stuff, anything with artificial alternative zero calorie sweeteners, or sparkling water/seltzer water. I think it's because alternative sweetener zero calorie stuff makes me feel instantly hungry and water doesn't. Also the stuff that isn't actually sweet or good tasting tastes worse than water to me.

          The compromise I'm trying to make is I can't buy anymore soda than what I have in my house. Once I'm out, that's it.

            Try flavored seltzer water, that's what helped me finally kick soda. It takes a few days to get used to it, but you still get your flavor + carbonation without the sugar and added bullshit.

And I mean actually measuring and tracking your food in an app or on paper, not guessing and keeping track mentally because if you're doing that you're guaranteed to be wrong or bullshitting yourself.       What goes up must come down. If you eat at a surplus you're in a caloric debt. If you want to return to humanity after getting obese you're going to have to *gasp* eat less than what your body needs each day. And if you want do get to a normal body weight in a reasonable amount of time you're going to need to go hungry. Or you can do -200 calorie deficit for 10 years, I guess. That sounds fun.

      Hello. Former unrestricted fat frick here who ate and drank whatever he wanted. No joke I would have anywhere between 3000-6000 calories every day.

      I switched to a diet of 2k calories per day. I never feel hungry. I have more energy and function better than I ever did eating garbage. Eating poorly made me feel tired all the time, and I'm guessing that's what's making you tired and "barely able to function". You're eating like shit. I feel WAY better and have way more energy since I just decided to start eating better. And it's not like I eat some strict ultra gym bro diet. I still eat tasty shit. Eggs, lean ham, bananas, apples, carrots, crackers, turkey, cheese, etc. Maybe something that helped my transition to better foods is I still had pretty carby dinners for energy and satiety like white rice and spaghetti at first. I slowly eliminated them from my diet and just eat salad instead with chopped mushrooms, onions, peppers, and chicken.

      Not that my exact diet will work right for you but I feel incredible since the switch. You should really buy some different foods and just see what you like and keep making improvements and adjustments every day.

      Just as a final thing, your attitude is so negative about all of it and it doesn't need to be. You're treating it like you're giving up something great but that's not what it is. You're switching to something better. It's just hard because you're addicted to it and associate it with comfort when it's actually what is killing you and making you tired all the time.

          Listen pal, you did good loosing the weight but being morbidly obese, it doesn't stop at 60 pounds and you know it. You want to keep losing, you have to work harder and cut harder and learn how to like vegetables. I eat 142 grams of salad greens with a bit of light oil with chicken breast for lunch not because I love it, but because you gotta eat like that to stay healthy.

    I'm not lemonadebrah but guys do you think I should quit drinking coke zero? It's my one and only vice, I got the autisms so most food textures make me wanna hurl but taking a quick sipppp lets me power thru. Really love chilling with a coke zero and snacking on berries, feels great. I rinse my mouth with water afterwards.

        mm I'm trying to eat very clean, there's just some very healthy foods I find intolerable like bell peppers and zucchini. Sometimes foods that previously were nice and delicious suddenly taste like death. I don't want to be one of those autists that just eats chicken tendies and can't eat out anywhere. If I have a coke zero I can straight up eat salads with no dressing at all with no problem. Sparkling water with lemon also works to lesser degree. I got hold of yerba mate with matcha and lemon, it was pretty good so I've thought hmm should I go the extra mile in clean eating? But coke zero is my one and only vice, I thought maybe it's autistically too far having no guilty pleasures. I'll just continue using acid defense mouthwash and toothpaste I guess.

      I didn't start noticing fat losses until cutting out artificial sweeteners entirely. I think there's merit to the claim that they still have the same metabolic effect as real sugars

    Sorry everyone else giving this advice is being a douche about it but the unwillingness to cut everything out and the coping around it (muh "I need it") IS what's keeping you down. Currently you are a sugar addict depriving yourself but giving yourself the tantalizing taste with the lemonade. If you cut ALL the sugar out and just drink water eventually you will adjust and get over the addiction. If you continue just having the lemonade you will never lose the sugar addiction and will constantly be miserable that you aren't gorging yourself on sugar pizza microwave food garbage.
    If you shake the addiction now and lose the weight you can come back to sugary food later in moderaton without craving more and being miserable.

      Good on you for losing the weight, but take it from someone who had to lose the weight twice: switch to a sustainable healthy diet now. You can't maintain a crash diet forever, and if you don't know what healthy eating is like, you're more likely to revert to your old ways when the liquid diet phase is over.

    I've committed to cutting a lot of crap out of my diet, I've committed to cutting high fructose corn syrup soda specifically out of my soda. The one thing I won't commit to is fricking cooking. Frick that shit. I'll commit to grilling once or twice a week. Why my diet is currently breakfast as literally nothing but oatmeal, lunch is two sandwiches and dinner is two sandwiches and a bag of steamed vegetables. Frick cooking and frick meal prep. I'm not going to commit my time for that. Guess the next step is to commit to only eating oatmeal in the morning and grilling once or twice a week because I'd rather commit to borderline starvation than cook every fricking night after getting home from work

    Figure out what it is about lemonade that you like (e.g., sweetness, tartness, lemon flavor, whatever) and channel that desire toward similar, but healthier, lower calorie foods. Your palate will change and you'll no longer crave lemonade. I thought I'd never be able to kick chocolate because I'm a sugar fiend but I started eating more fruit, especially dates, to satisfy that craving. Now I think chocolate is too sweet and I never buy it. Your tastes are very malleable.
