>Water has zero calories

>Water has zero calories
It doesn't make any sense, it should atleast have like one calorie

If you put water in the over it takes energy to "burn" it

Your body can’t separate a water molecule for chemical energy so it provides 0 chemical energy.

No frogposter you just failed high school biology

Calorie is just a measurement for energy. Your body doesnt use water for energy, it uses it for a different chemical process that maintains cell function and also to replace fluids in your body so that you can pee out impurities.

Water is just the substratum for all the biochemical shit to take place.

Not only that, your body need heat to put the water at body temperature therefore water have negative calories

It has at least one calorie if you drink enough of it.

A calorie is a measurement of energy that it takes to raise the temperature of water by 1 degree when exploded inside of a bomb calorometer. You literally cannot ignite water, therefore there is no explosion and no subsequent energy release. When placed inside of your body it also will also generally sap energy, making it negatively caloric due to having to heat it with your body heat unless you drink it above body temperature. It also uses up energy when having to be moved around inside your body through various cellular processes

In terms of absolute sheer energy, a single molecule of water contains enough to destroy about 2/3rds of the Earth If it was released all at once in an antimatter reaction, but that's not what is significant in our calorie measurements.

Y'know, I never quite thought about how drinking lots of water would technically burn calories by way of absorbing body heat. I knew of the metabolic benefits and how they kept your cells healthy but the idea of it burning calories even if on a smaller scale feels like one of those things that make 100% sense when you hear it but never quite consciously register before then.

It's not very much unless you make a concerted effort to drink very cold water. It will only burn an extra 10-30 calories per hour, but if you were to do this all day every single day you could burn an extra lb per week or so. A better way to use the thermic effect is to submerge yourself in ice water. If you can get to the point of lasting an hour or longer you can burn several hundred calories over an hour period. It's literally better than running. Don't warm up afterward for more burn, let yourself naturally heat up.

This also converts more of your white fat into brown fat, increases cold shock protein synthesis, increases subjective cold tolerance, and a bunch of other benefits.
