Easy win for the polar bear, it would not even be a contest

The gorilla might be a bit smaller but it's both faster and a lot smarter. I think it could win.

gorillas are frickign tiny man absolutely pathetic. I'd destroy any gorilla. A polar bear on the other hand, that would be close. They are pretty big but I've definitely got the technique upper hand. If I'm allowed to use the environment (creating rope to strangle it from vines etc) I think I have the edge

kind of depends on to which one's natural habitat the arina is more similar. but i'd believe more in the polar bear. it's a predator. it's bigger and stronger. it has more fat below it's skin which makes it more sturdy. as long as you don't fly the polar bear into the jungle to fight, it should win

The skin of Gorillas can easily be penetrated, so slashing wounds and bites could be deadly. A polar bar is a really bad opponent for a Gorilla.

      >as though a loser polar bear could ever touch a gorilla
Laughable, gorillas can obliterate coconuts with a flex of the wrist, a polar bears head would shatter with low effort. Polar bears eat nothing but fat frick seals, they have never come in contact with a high level athletes like gorillas.

A gorilla would have trouble with a motivated black bear. A polar bear would kill a gorilla easily.

If polar bears and gorillas live in the same biome, the gorillas would be a common prey item for polar bears.

the largest siberian tiger, some of which have been known to grow upwards of 700lbs vs the largest saltwater crocodile which have been known to weight over 2000lbs would definitely be a sick match up. on land i would probably say the tiger just because they are warm blooded. crocodiles are definitely fricking strong and scary but they dont have that endurance

Polar bear has claws. Not fair.
Better question is polar bear vs a gorilla that's been trained and outfitted with brass knuckles.

    Polar bear

So here’s some stuff worth mentioning in this never ending debate to end it once and for all
    >polar bears
So first off let’s get this out of the way. Yes they’re the largest bear and are the only one that’s hypercarnivorous, however they have much smaller claws than a grizzly bear which can also get to polar bear sized on occasion. It should be grizzly bear or even the hybrid that naturally occurs between the two. Those giant dagger claws are important.
    >gorillas
First and foremost they’re pussies. Them fighting other animals is extremely rare. They usually do displays to scare off opponents and are more likely to run before they fight.
    >speed
The bear wins and anyone (I’m talking about you anon) who is moronic enough to pull this out of their ass shouldn’t have a say in this. Bears can spring up to 40 MPH. A gorilla cannot do that. A gorillas sprints also do not cover the same distance as any bears.
    >intellect
Yeah that’s true but what do you think is gonna happen? The gorilla is gonna build trip wires and suddenly start using weapons and shit? This isn’t king kong. It’s not about to on the fly strategize how to defeat the bear. Even if it were capable of such a thing it would have no time do so. Meaning intellect means nothing in this debate, it would be an all out physical brawl. Intellect only serves for the gorilla to have awareness and even sadness as the bear eats it alive.
    >strength
The gorilla is 100% stronger than the bears, however this is negligible considering bears can break a fully grown mooses back in a single hit. Bears are still strong as frick themself and unelss the ape knows human martial arts ut will never utilize its strength in this fight when you consider my next and final point
    >adaptations
Gorillas are built to have short half assed exchanges with other gorillas, where they may hit each other a few times and then one fricks off. Bears are built to fight bears. A gorilla could do nothing.

Polar bear. Leopards dab on Gorillas and the only big cat that has a chance against a polar is a large Siberian Tiger, and even then it would need a surprise attack.

Depends on the conditions of the fight.
From what I remember, polars begin to overheat when it's hotter than 10 degrees Celsius.
So it it's hot enough, the gorilla wins by default. Otherwise, the bear wins 100%.
