What?

I'm thinking of buying one, and I've been searching, but it seems most are overpriced crap for what they offer, except the sub based whoop.

Any recommendations? I'm keen on those without any displays, since having two watches seems moronic.

My mom made a bracelet for me. I'm wearing it as a memento. Gives me strength to carry on.

      cute

I have samsung watch. It says I have too much fat, muscle, and water.

hmm, what's the accuracy on those?

It seems pretty accurate to me. I drink a lot of water and eat a lot of salt. I just quit drinking last month. Have stayed the same weight but lost a belt loop so far.

Hmm interesting, I fell for the iOS meme, so my counter-part seems to be the new watch 8.

Everybody around swear by apple but I just can't see the point of buying a product that will have you pay monthly for basic apps instead of once to purchase. For example Runtastic being a one time payment of something like $10 while iOs is a monthly $5 or something. Or that's how it was some years back

Got it as a present, so I just roll with it.

I heard they want to make it sub based, the phones included, for example you have a monthly sub, the phone is free but without that sub the phone is locked.

Apple is good for old people but they haven't really had the best phones since maybe iphone 5. Nowdays they have like half the ram of other flagships and even with android bloat they come out well behind. Macs at least have all their basic software but there really is nothing apple does on mobile better. Apples map system especially is significantly inferior.

    Fitbit sense, it's good.

Fitbit sucks and can't even do consistent heart rate monitoring. My Charge 5 was telling me my HR was 100~ at both 60bpm and 140bpm. Fricking garbage can of a device. Spoke to a cardiologist who unironically said Apple watches are the only ones with decent tech in them. Not about to fork out though

The truth is optical pulse oximetry isn't reliable tech for monitoring heart rate, rhythms (which apple watches attempt), and oxygenation, especially while moving around like a watch, half the battle is the software to interpret the data from the sensors which companies like Apple are obviously better at.
That said wearing the watch tighter whenever you need accurate HR data and higher up works for almost any tracker.

I gave up with the HR monitoring of my Garmin Forerunner, got the separate HR chest strap monitor - links seamlessly to the watch to give a read-out and is far more accurate when I test it against a manual pulse check. Just a shame I had to fork out for an extra bit of kit to get there.

Why do you even need it? Fitness watches and bands are unaesthetic and can’t tell you anything you can’t feel yourself.

Samsung watch holds music for running with no phone, it remote finds the phone, it is a better pedometer, it measures hr, it tells you gps directions so you can face it operator style while driving and not look away from the road or listen to the dumb robot b***h, it lets you answer the phone when it is in a bag, it lets you check texts more discreetly, it lets you measure heart rate in the sauna without your phone overheating, it is a flashlight in a pinch, oh yeah and it is a watch.

        >Samsung watch holds music for running with no phone
Valid if you listen to music while running. I don’t really listen to anything when I’m outside.
        >it remote finds the phone
        Non-issue for adults.
        >it is a better pedometer
Possibly, but does it even matter that much if it says 10k or 11k? Relativity is more important than absolute precision.
        >it measures hr
What do you do with that information? I can tell my heart and lungs are getting better by the distance and speed I can run.
        >gps directions
Just get a car with Bluetooth and phone holder.
        >it lets you answer the phone when it is in a bag
Why would you have phone in bag unless it’s off and you don’t want to be disturbed?
        >it lets you check texts more discreetly
Squinting at the tiny display is not really discreet. You can always turn down brightness on phone to be more discreet.
        >it lets you measure heart rate in the sauna without your phone overheating
        ??
        >it is a flashlight
Valid, but you can get those for a buck as keychain.
        >it is a watch
Again, valid but for same price you can get a nice watch that’ll last you forever, is lighter, more durable and doesn’t come with subscriptions.
I used to have Mi Band 2 some years ago, then I figured it’s useless.

I'm not who you're replying too, and I've bounced back and forth between wearing a $30 timex and a smart watch/tracker over the years, but you're not going to explain away the positives the guy listed with a bunch of alternatives/personal preferences.

It's namely good for hiking and long distance and has elevation as well.
          >Why would you have phone in bag unless it’s off and you don’t want to be disturbed?
See above. See kayaking with a drybag. Sure my phone is 'waterproof' but it isn't falls in a river proof.
          >Again, valid but for same price you can get a nice watch that’ll last you forever, is lighter, more durable and doesn’t come with subscriptions.
I have a couple neat watches but other than to a wedding or another actual well dressed ocassion watches are utterly obsolete. I have a car with gps but google maps and waze are superior due to real time traffic measurements. Phone clips are tacky looking. It's like $200 and has no subscription. For the lifespan of this phone that is a nonissue. The next watch is probably going to be some kind of hamilton khaki but I doubt I will ever really wear it.

I just got the Xiaomi Band 7. Pretty cheap, and has a well reviewed constant O2 sat and HR monitoring. I mostly want it to pace myself on cardio and monitor sleep quality. For $50 it's worth it. Though I'm willing to return it if something glaring is wrong with it or someone here has a better rec.

The AmazFit looked good too but always on Mic that is software locked only to work with Alexa is a complete no-go.
