as always there is a livestream of a weirdo doing it and you can feel the cringe and desperation in every moment of it.
watch pewdiepie videos from 10 years ago if you prefer youtube, equally desperate equally hilarious.

Don't listen to this sad Black person, who mocks people for their joy. Of course there are some limitations the older you get, but that shouldn't stop anyone from skating

There you go, anon. The only thing stopping you from trying something new is that some homosexual like the anon above is sitting in his room watching people through the porthole of his computer, imaging what having friends or a passion is like. If his opinion matters to you, then don't.

Muay thai, or as a matter of fact, any contact sport is good for socialization. Every day you're forced to at least pair up with somebody.

grappling/BJJ on the other hand is full of insecure nerds with ego problems

I'm thinking about getting into cycling. Lots of girls are into it. I've been rockclimbing a few times before on dates mainly and it seems like it's only fun occasionally. I don't know, just feels kind of dorky.

I was thinking about getting a gravel bike for both long distance cardio and doing easier trails. I don't want to go into full MTB because I know a few people who have injured themselves and it just seems not worth the risk/reward ratio.

A lot of the guys who are into cycling seem like homosexuals though. Fit women are generally extremely cool though.

Cycling is definitely IST but you have to take it seriously and actually try. Get a power meter and track your max power over various intervals, pure max, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes 1 hour ect. Beyond this do a lot or zone 2 lighter riding, where your heart rate is slightly up but you aren't struggling.

300 watts for 20 minutes is about the equivalent of 1/2/3/4 I would say, where you become "advanced". Pro riders are closer to 400, and the best ones are well over. Lance blasting EPO could apparently do 500 watts for 20 minutes

This is moronic. Black person you don't need a power meter unless you plan on racing. A chest strap HR monitor is more than enough until you're out of cat 5.

A power meter is extremely helpful if you want to get IST on a bike. It will make you faster, whether or not you actually sign up for races. A 4iii power meter 105 crank is a couple hundred bucks. Is absolutely necessary? No, but it really should be the first upgrade for your bike

what about doing time v distance based goals? when i was stationary biking i was shooting for 10 miles @ 30 minutes. not really sure what a good baseline for this is though but ognna start again soon

That is fine, but there are still many factors such as wind and temperature. A power meter will give you an absolute of how hard you are going in real time. You should look at both

I remember last time I brought up power meters on IST you guys were seething, not sure why you hate them so much. I guess you really don't want to be seen as a poser or something?

                >i need multiple wheelsets for le wind
I fricking hate geargays like you. All you need to get fit is any goddamn aluminum bike that fits you and some basic kit.

                You're such a homosexual

I agree, but I'd take a steel or cromoly frame over aluminum any day of the week. Bike frame weight reduction doesn't even matter for the average cyclist, unless they're a legit professional or already low bf%.
Weekend warrior cyclists would rather have a carbon fiber frame that snaps after 2 months than lose 10 lbs from their beer gut for weight reduction.

                Anonymous

Sure, but alu frames are the most commonly found. Just get a used CAAD6 (or 8 or whatever the frick we're on now). Hell, a shitty Masi with a drivetrain that made 105 look like DA2 got me to multiple podiums, so even that is more than enough for anyone who doesn't race.

I've always wanted a power meter, but I can't justify the cost since its all strictly recreational to me. I just try to beat my own Strava segment times to measure my progress.

I've been heavy into mountain biking for most of my life. Men into cycling in general have a well-earned reputation of being insufferable dorks, but from my experience, women who cycle are as bad, if not worse.
I very briefly dated a woman who was really into gravel biking. She looked down her nose at anyone who didn't have a financed $10k bike. When she found out I simply ride a 26-inch Trek with rim brakes on gravel, which was the norm on gravel until the past 8 or so years, she told me I wasn't a serious cyclist and shortly thereafter ghosted me. I'd say 80% of cyclists are just gear-queers competing to flex things they've bought, and actually riding their bike is secondary. I've never met a woman cyclist who *wasn't* that type.

Pretty much this, but mountain biking still has its fair-share of insufferable douchebags. You can thank the road cycling -> gravel bike -> MTB pipeline for that.

I've met a lot of friends surfing and skating. Skating in particular has a very wholesome and welcoming culture. We surfers are buttholes though. In fact, stay out of the water. Surfing isn't for you.

be ready to make new bike friends every time you stop
    if guys

        >chadmaxxing Tinder hobbies
        in order:
lift - no mirror selfies holding phone
motorcycle - has to be a sport bike, does not matter which or displacement
travel - scenic outdoors like pic related
cooking - in the bio, not a pic unless grilling / smoking meat
entrepreneurship - subtle mog in branded shirt, not whole profile
        bottom tier:
promiscuity - subtle hints, but never outright mention all the bawds you've banged
        reading - not in bio
vidya game - do not mention in bio or over text
