Self improvement podcasts/books/youtube is all fricking bullshit tbh.
If you want to change you'll do it. Some homosexual trying to sell you a book or a supplement wont help that

Not OP but do you not feel like there must be some way, some theory, some motivational type, that will put your mind and body the right way and have you kicking ass all the time?

Continually trying to push yourself is like fighting your true nature. There must be some way to get things to go right. Some path to glory.

        Yeh its called being me.

I want to perform optimally so I do the correct actions to achieve it.

not him, but if someone is starting out with fitness/self improvement and they don't know what needs to be done to perform optimally, podcasts from respected people in the industry is the best way to learn

Definitely not , thats a really inefficent way to maximum potential.
Your advice isnt dangerous but it is stupid. Just stop

              what's your alternative then?
if someone's lived their whole life stuffing themselves full of junk food, being too lazy to do anything other than work a shitty job and watch tv, and suddenly decide to turn their life around one day, they're going to need some guidance to actually get anywhere.

are you suggesting they read books or somehow find people IRL rather than listening to podcasts, or hope for divine inspiration on what exactly to do to fix themselves?

Meh, there's a difference between "Click here for this one trick that will you motivated forever" and watching a youtube video about how to unfrick your dopamine/serotonine.

protip - if its a motivational channel remixing someone's clips you should throw it in the trash and watch the actual dude.

i typically listen to podcasts only during cardio.

it's not self improvement related, but i like listening to NYT's "The Daily" podcast. yes it has a certain slant to it, but it's a great way to get some basic knowledge on a topic you may have never heard of before, and then you can do your own research later

Just listen to Hatebreed and Terror. You'll probably get better gains doing that than listening to some 60-year old telling you softly you should clean ur room bucko.

I don't listen to podcasts while lifting.
But I like to put on the Huberman Lab or Lex Fridman if I'm just working. I skip the supp shilling.

just read the Bible and the Odysseus, you don't need random homosexuals from the entertainment industry telling you what to do in life.
