    Destroying your joints

Will unironically destroy your hips/knees/ankles as well as your entire back. This has been proven countless times.

It's an essential function for combat arms guys in the military. Tons of trends got started/restarted about 20 years ago when everyone wanted to LARP as an operator. Did thousands of hours of walking around and running in this shit while I was in the military and it fricked my shoulders, lower back, and right knee for a long time.

            >shit nobody said
K bro. Also if you’re only doing 5kg you’re wasting your fricking time. This is why 30kg overweight guy has better calves than you. He’s literally trying harder.

Is there any way to practice it so that it is less likley to destroy joints? I plan on joining

Buy a nice pack, learn how to load it to keep the weight higher and over your shoulders. Buy nice boots and learn how to do foot care. Don’t run. Start slow and don’t do more than like 24mile a week. Don’t go over 45lbs.

Note that if you’re ever in an actual combat zone your average load is going to be like 100lbs and can be like 150lbs.

It's not? Being a fat is the worst thing for your health and it's not close. You could be a team Red Bull suicide athlete, drink mercury, and ride a motorbike without a helmet and it would still be less risky than being obese.

only if you do ballistic exercises or cardio

      >5 kg vest
      >will destroy your knee, back and joints
      >being 30 kg overweight
      >completely fine

      explain it then

no matter how well you tie it, the impact of the weights comes after the lowest point in your stride when you're jogging or running. This essentially applies a ballistic force to your knee and hip joints when they're already at their most stressed. You'll understand exactly what I mean if/when you try it.
Only way to save your joints when doing this is to run like a granny and completely eliminate the vertical motion from your run.

you're one of those guys who never lock out on a leg press because of the fear of snapping weak joints, and thus never strengthening them, aren't you?

If you add weight to cardio, you don't perform both cardio and weightlifting at the same time. You perform a more limited cardio routine while not achieving hypertrophy at all. If you want muscles, you lift weight, and if you want cardio, you do cardio separatly. Any mixture of both is subptimal and will only lead to a half assed version of either of them.

Performing kettle bell swings is a decent warmup and that's the extent of their usefulness.

So hear me out, what about going for a walk or slow walk on relatively flat terrain...while..and here's the catch..while you do some medium weight sand bag carry(think 40-50 pounds max and anything in between). Say you do this for an hour or two , 1x a week, going back and forth inside a closed circuit of about 3kms, alternating between the bearhug carry, the over-the-shoulder carry..hell I would even try an under arm carry.

Will this yield any kind of measurable results in terms of cardio or strength? is it core and spine enhancing? is it all just a dogshit endeavour which will make a cripple 20 years from now?

How much spare time do you have? Walk home with the groceries instead of doing this.

I dont have much spare time but I've managed to train consistently 3x times per week for about 4 months now, one day is all barbell stuff then another is just dumbbells/kettlebells/isolation mostly and then Ive been toying with the idea of adding a 3rd day for these 'sand bag carry walks' whatchamacallems or whatever... I work from home and this hellhole I currently reside in is very far away from basically everything, so I go for groceries maybe 1 or 2 times a month and buy in bulk.

I must say for a rather sedentary skinny fat frick like myself, Im doing pretty good. Feeling some very minimal gains already, been cutting out shit carbs, bread mostly, been eating a frickload of mushrooms and meat, been drinking lots of water. Ive improved some of my terrible sleeping habits(except for maybe today), but pretty good overall.
