Genetics. Also sports/heavy labor in their youth.
      t. Have well developed calves from playing soccer in my youth to adolescence

I do that too and yet mine are average to tiny. I also have noticeably more strength in my calves than men with bigger ones. It really is just genetics, though I'm not mad about it.

I never train my biceps, but theyre really small, haha must just be genetics

Have you seen Asians? They got insane calves even 65 years old grandma

I'm a mailman and work with pretty old ones. Our calves suck it's just genetics. I'm also 6'2"

      >it's just genetics bro

why are morons so quick to blame genetics for lagging calves as if it's a magic muscle yet absolutely refuse to accept the possibility of there being people so genetically blessed that they can look like roiders completely naturally?
genetics impact your entire musculature if you have shit muscle building genetics in a muscle you have it all over lol, the only reason why a muscle might overpower the rest of your body is because you don't use it as much as the others and the only reason why you see some people who don't "train" with big calves is because their calves experience enough mechanical tension throughout the day/week/month/year doing every day casual activity that you don't identify with "training" but it's still activity.

Yeah, those narrow ankles, the pale color of the skin and the non-brawny presentation all scream edema.

zoomers didn't do manual labor growing up. Compare the average zoomer's hands and calves to their fathers or grandfathers and you will see the difference

Calves are notoriously hard to train and you might do it like once or twice a week? Compare that to just walking around. I was a fat ass with a construction job so my legs were constantly exercising, specifically my calves since a lot of it was swinging around on a ladder. Then I lost he weight and calves stayed the same size. Point is walking exercises calves a lot more than the occasional gym session does, so being fat will develop them more even if you skip the gym.

I have a theory that calves and forearms only really respond to megavolume, that's why they're biggest on people who are on their feet for hours every day, and who do manual labour, and why a few sets in the gym will do frick all to increase their size.

On which subject, I used to walk about 4 miles to and from work every day. I work from home now, they've probably lost a bit of size but my calves still measure 17 inches around.

I'm a manlet with thick calves. I walk fast, bike, carry my kids around, and constantly have to stand on my toes to reach things from the top shelf
when I was a teenager I worked construction and constantly was up and down equipment and carrying 5 gallon buckets of oil and hydraulic fluid around

Everyone I see "training" calves is doing something that's so low intensity it's obviously not going to do anything. Like when I was 155lbs I could do 5pl8s on the standing calf raise machine and I usually see people maybe 1pl8. Even going for a walk on a slight uphill is more intense than that.
