theres one obsessed autists on here who really hates powerlifting and is trying his best to psy-op this board
sorry fren you feel that way. I just like to be strong.
this is fat frick cope, from a former fat frick.
traded my gains for the looks, and i've never felt better
bullshit. you should try for both. going all looks and no strength is embarassing.
my gf and me went to the gym, and my friend was deadlifting 200kg easily. My gf asked if i could pick that up and I said yes, lying. She wanted to see me, and of course I couldnt
I said I was tired from work and I did deadlifts before and whatevr
ever since then, gf has noticably been less impressed by me going gyrm. its like I feel like a phony, that my gf has found out that I focus purely on looks and I feel like gay as frick when I look in the mirror.
I got so pissed at losing my masculinity one night, I went full strength. Still can't get to 200kg deadlift, but I'm at 165. I'm gonna bulk up this year, because I still havent reclaimed my masculinity yet.
Bro got deadlift cucked. I can’t imagine the pain you must have felt. I would never let my girlfriend see me be outlifted. Also despite the fact that you only lift for looks or whatever I guarantee you look terrible. Never seen an admirable physique from someone who deadlifts less than 4pl8
Your girlfriend judging your masculinity by how much you can deadlift sounds like the problem
shes not wrong. girls are moronic but she supposed if hes lifting weights her bf must be strong.
then she finds out her bf isnt actually strong, hes just toned.
females dont give a frick about strength, but its something theyd like to have secondary if they could. you know anons gf is probably fantasing about his friends strength.
>my gf and me
*My gf and I
there is not a single non-powershitter on this planet who gives a frick about one's deadlift numbers lmao
next time you post this fabricated story make it about bench or ohp at least
i dont get what your tryna say. my gf saw my friend pick up a bar with 4x20 plates off the ground multiple times.
cause we train together, she was interested if I culd too.
im hopin she still believes I could, but i definitely wanna be ready for the next time she asks.
Your gf is probably a fat 6/10 roastie over 25, so I don't give a shit
>fat
>6/10
fat chicks cap out at like 4/10
I realised that I was only doing it because I was too lazy to fix my diet and track my macros.
When I went to the beach with friends and two guys who got into working out a year later than me and did some bro split from bb.com got all kinds of compliments from the rest and one non-lifter friend suggested they tutor me at the gym because they obviously know what they're doing. felt like killing myself at that moment ngl
Why would one do exclusive powerlifting is beyond me
Everyone should be doing both
and yet this board reccomends ss/sl/texas method/various bastardizations of these where you do 10 times as many squats as curls...curious
you get familiarized with the stress of weight and you can deal with it better imo, everyone should do ss then switch to whatever they like
Rouska's triceps don't look too great there. Doesn't have the nicest looking insertions despite being huge for 5'5.
Think his FFMI is higher than CBum which is kinda hilarious for a tested lifter.
This. Though at the same time you shouldn't powercope and try to bodybuild by doing a powerlifting program: you'll end up small and disproportional.
Was it because you had low muscle mass or because your bodyfat was too high?
my proportions were all fricked. I did stronglifts. i could squat more than both of them combined but my arms were twigs, when i did ohp it affected only my front delts tricep and maybe alittle traps so i was still as narrow as a non lifter but i had thunder tighs and i woasnt very fat but they looked tomorous when unflexed like i was storking fat and water in my legs and with my non existent unworked calves it looked grotesque. i only had decent back thickness from rows but no width so i kinda looked like i was pulling my shoulder blades together at all times. would NOT reccomend
I now bench 285 with a pause and feel better than ever
>theres one obsessed autists on here who really hates powerlifting and is trying his best to psy-op this board
>sorry fren you feel that way. I just like to be strong.
Abs are not a sign of power.
true
big ass juicy as frick arms are
Is just a sign you don't eat enough
Let's see
>busted discs, most likely more than one
>legs being objectively too big at the times
>realizing I'm actually not well rounded physically by maxing out arbitrary movements
>leverages being a key factor in how much you can "lift"
>all this bullshit going on in PL with giant bridges or PL suits
>actually feeling better when I couldn't go to gym and had to do calisthenics
>hardly looking like I lift
When someone is really into powerlifting and has serious internal motivation, then it's all good, but a lot of dudes who just want to be stronger and more muscular get groomed into it on the internet (see the SS cultists from several years ago) and end up disappointed with the result
Wrong answers. Power-lifting training is almost always superior to everything else, esp as a natty.
However, doing extra arm work (biceps and triceps) and a little, shoulder work like lateral raises might be necessary to get a little hypertrophy in those muscles. This extra work need not be a lot, just 3-5 sets of curls, 3-5 sets of triceps, 3-5 sets of laterals 2-3 times per week. Also, dont be fat.
thanks anon. i swear IST has some insane people sometimes.
thats what im currently doing.
Working in higher rep ranges is safer, less likely to cause injuries, and less straining on the CNS. Because of that you can do more sets close to failure which is the primary driver of hypertrophy. Less adherance to increasing the big three opens the door to greater variety of exercises that may provide new and superior stimulus for growth and spice up one's training regiment. Lesser focus on SBD allows more time and effort committment to lagging bodyparts. 3-5 sets of curs as an afterthought following a full compound-heavy high intensity workout might not cut it for some folk. Some folk might need an arm day to blow up their genetically disadvantaged apendages. Some might need to do a frickton of fly variations and crossovers to grow their chest because their proportions make their bench an anterior delt and tricep mostly exercises. When you free yourself of the dogmatic prescriptions of internet weightroom idealogues you will discover a whole world of possibilities.
It's good until you get older. Once you get into that mid 30s plus range you need to up your reps or you won't recover properly and your joints will be fricked
Nothing, PL is a natty cope that works well for me. I’ll never be half as big as roidtrannies however I stack more plates than them and that’s enough.
Frick you op be nice to Candy toe
He offered his progress for free and wants everyone to make it
Injury fricked him up
When I decided I didn't want spider mode as my body.
Powershitter crush friendzoned me
>why yes ive been lifting for 3 years now, cant you tell?
realised I hate high volume and l prefer longer peroids of rest inbetween sets. aesthetically shit didnt work out for me. it was a hard pill to swollow.
