what do you do if a gym regular gives you bad advice? I asked someone to get guidance on my rowing machine form, check if it was good, he said it was great, except I was holding the handle wrong, had to grip it tightly, like I was deadlifting. I'm like 99.999% sure this is bunk, every rowing resource I have found online recommended a relaxed grip in a neutral position, not curling around the lowest joint on the fingers. Luckily I don't go to gyms much, I have a home gym and was just checking out machines and took the opportunity to get some tips. but it made me wonder, if someone at your local haunt that is always there said something stupid to you, do you just.. ignore their advice right to their face? do you do the wrong thing when they look? do you just join another gym to avoid things being awkward?
btw, should I put into doubt his passing grade on my form because of how stupid his advice was on the grip? it was an employee so I assumed they'd know their stuff
