I like his points but find his OMEGA SUPER FULL ROM to be sometimes overkill.
Also wish he pointed out that he and his crew did tons of strength training before doing his current Bodybuilding only stuff.

weird that you're randomly antagonistic + there's a lot more to programming than just reps and sets when you get to an intermediate/advanced level

I don't think you are intermediate or advanced. Also don't lump in being intermediate with being advanced.

Imagine confidently saying this and then not knowing that the hypertrophy rep range is 5-40 because you didn’t actually watch any of his videos.

        No, he says
        >1-2 reps for peaking
        >3-6 reps for general strength
        >5-30 reps for hypertrophy

He trains like a pussy and overcomplicates extremely simple concepts. Most of his information is fluff that you don't even need to think about to grow muscle.

      Anonymous

Initially, you don’t need to know a lot to grow muscle. You can do literally anything and grow muscle. Does that mean that beginners should do meme instagram workouts with pictures of furries next to each of them? No.

Eventually, you reach a point where having more knowledge helps. Simple stuff doesn’t work anymore when you reach a certain point. That’s the whole reason why complex programming exists in the first place.

Appeals to midwits with his made-up SCIENCE!!! terms and overcomplicating hypertrophy training for no benefit. First off, there's no proof periodization even works for powerlifters, it's a myth created by soviets who were obsessed with top-down approaches to sports even if it didn't work (bulgarian) and bodybuilding is even more basic than powerlifting because you don't even need to be top at strength for an event at certain times a year. You just get jacked and take drugs to get lean, that's it.

Also peddles a lot of made up broscience. He think ROM = more gains even though it doesn't. It's already been tested and artificially lengthening the movement doesn't make more gains. Like if you do a curl and fully extend and contract your triceps at the bottom it doesn't do anything except increase injury risk (preacher curl snaps)

Might know some shit about nutrition since protein absorption was his thesis, which is a pretty low tier thing to make your thesis over but whatever, but I'd never pay some guy to tell me to eat 30g of protein 6 times a day.

does this mean I can floor press for max gains

        Probably decent for triceps gains.

Yeah, but if you avoid doing the bottom range of motion, then you don’t actually get strong in that part of the lift, so when you go too low one day, you become much more likely to snap your shit up than if you had practiced being under load while in that position.

Unironically one of the best sources of info out there because he doesn't sugar coat things or make things difficult to read/understand. He doesn't act like he is rediscovering things, and his info on MRV and the like is easy to understand and follow.

C'mon man, you 're not allowed to have a positive opinion on him!
You have to bash him and ridicule him like all the other dyel cretins ITT who know jack shit about lifting compared to Mike, look like shit and eat like shit, but yeah, let them tell you how it's done.

He’s not over complicating it. He’s just telling you everything.

If you’re a beginner and you don’t need to know anything other than linear progression, just don’t watch his channel. He’s not there for you. He’s there for intermediates and advanced lifters.

He's not even always right about what he says and he is not like the bodybuilders giving advice, because he shoves a lot of academic studies in his explanations.
Academics are gays by default and could be proven wrong tomorrow.

I think he's alright. The people that follow these guys though are always perma dyels. They're looking for some way to stop being dyels and go about micro managing and reexamining everything to try to get to the bottom of why they're dyels. The obvious answer is most of the time it's genetic if it was really in the cards for them they probably would have made it by now.

Is that from his first comp ever or something? Nice cherry picking.

Not defending Mike, I'm not particularly a fan as he isn't aware of his own biases as much as he thinks he is and thinks his programming is the bestest ever for everyone everywhere all the time for every purpose. However that pic is definitely not representative of what he looks like in recent years.

He gives good advice when it comes to exercise physiology, but when it comes to fat loss, he has nothing to offer, but of course makes videos anyway like the other YouTube influencers.
Frankly, I think all non-natties need to STFU when it comes to fat loss, and especially getting shredded, or just make a video the effect of
    >I run roids and clen; you're on your own
With Israetel, it's even more obvious, since he's clearly a bigger guy naturally, and has a huge appetite, and struggles to stay lean. It's comical that any natty would seek advice from him on fat loss.
At least he admits he runs gear..
