In every gym I've been to the heaviest plates are 25kg yet for some reason 20kg is treated as the standard

      Anonymous

Because every gym has far more 20kg plates than 25kg ones. And since there are 5kg and 10kg plates, you can easily make every weight increment by mixing those 3 plate types.

    Better question to ask is
    >how much is pl8?
    and
    >What is 1/2/3/4 and 2/3/4/5?
    As well as
    >is coffee good for you?

Biggest plates at my gym are 25kg and so I thought that's the proverbial plate. It was nice to learn it's just 20kg, closer to the 4/3/2/1 with that in mind

if you do a 5pl8 diddly using 20kg, and a burger does 5pl8 diddly using 45#, you will never actually lifted the same weight as the mutt
          the 25kg are the equalizer

            what ? 25kg is 55 pounds, that's a big difference.

I know it's less, 45 pounds is 20.4 kg. But you're suggesting to lift 25kg plates instead which is way fricking heavier.

pl means plate. Pl8 means plate (8) so eight plates and one plate is 20kg so that makes 2pl8 2*8*20kg=320kg and 3pl8 3*8*20kg=480kg etc etc
