Hard to get enough quality protein and enough of the amino acids essential for muscle growth. It's possible, just more difficult. Also vegans typically either do not eat enough calories which is not good for muscle building or tend to eat too much vegan oils and sugars.

This. It's just suboptimal. Whether it's better for you health-wise or morally is a different story, but nobody is arguing that vegans have an easier time getting jacked than meat-eaters and for good reason.

Furthermore, a lot of the vegan fitness influencers who promote their diets did not make their gains on a vegan diet; they almost always bulked omnivorously then switched to maintenance on a vegan diet and/or do steroids. You think it's bad now with fake natty influencers giving kids false expectations? It's even worse for young vegans thinking they'll make the same gains a meat-eater will, steroids or not.

    Low quality protein
    Not enough protein
    Some vitamins and minerals missing
Endless gas because you're LARPing as a damn herbivore

You will never be a real herbivore. You have no rumen, you have no omasum, you have no foregut fermentation. You are a carnivorous mammal twisted by brainwashing and reddit into a crude mockery of nature's perfection. All the "validation" you get is two faced and half hearted. Your doctors are disgusted and ashamed by you, your "friends" laugh at your malnourished appearance behind closed doors. Your pets are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed animals to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even vegans who "do it right" look unnatural and malnourished to a predator. Your digestive tract is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a dog to come home with you, he'll turn tail and bolt the second he sees the toxic sludge you feed yourself with. You will never be happy. You wretch out a fake smile every morning and tell yourself this is healthy, but deep inside you feel the bloat creeping up on you like a weed, ready to blast open your butthole the second you go to take another bite of "food". Eventually it'll be too much to bear - you'll buy some salmon, put it on your stove, and plunge into cold reality. Your doctor will find you, embarrassed for you but relieved that you no longer have to live with the unbearable IBS and disappointment. You'll live your life, eventually die, and be buried with a tombstone marked with your name and nothing else, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know that a carnivore was buried there. Your body will decay and go back to dust, and all that will remain is a skeleton that is unmistakably carnivorous. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

...I'm not vegan. Thanks for the new copypasta though.

Veganism is deficient in almost everything, it's not just the 15 nutrients commonly memed. Even the stuff it "has" is in the wrong form for bioavailability and that's before you factor in fibre inhibiting absorption. On the other hand the stuff that is in the plant foods is highly inflammatory.

Any vegan board is just packed with people complaining about health problems, it's a cult, they feel like they will lose all their friends if they leave and eat normally. A lot of them get death threats after they leave. Which is why jannies should ban vegan-posters on sight, it doesn't belong on a fitness board it's just a small number of troony weirdos from reddit trying to recruit people.

      This.

Veganism is an anti-fitness religion. Talking about veganism on IST is like going to IST and saying
      >anime sucks, you should all watch live-action Hollywood movies instead

Vegan diets prevent the body from using testosterone so it just floats around in the blood doing nothing.

In general most vegan diets are
      >low protein
      >low in various vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids if even present
      >often the wrong kind of vitamins
      >very low in creatine
      >low cholesterol (a crucial dietary factor in test production)
So you have to become dependent on supplementation in order to meat your dietary needs. However supplementation is often ineffective when compared to nutritional intake compared to a diet. Moreover, sometime the supplements are not even the correct compound for the human body to use; they either need to be converted in which case you need higher mineral intakes to meet the conversion needs or they're just analogues. An analogue is just a compound that looks like the desired compound and is often identified as a type of vitamin in blood tests but it does function like the real thing and can often interfere with the use of the real thing. i.e. cyanocobalamin is an analogue of methylcobalamin (vitamin B12). It needs to be methylated before it can be used. Until then, it floats around in your bloodstream interfering with the use of B12. So you can have symptoms of B12 deficiency yet a blood test will say you have plenty of B12 due to cyanocobalamin floating around in your bloodstream.

Keto was not brought up in this thread. Wait until a keto thread pops up to spam this shit.

If your brain doesn't contain fat of any kind, you need to see a doctor.

Lack of protein. Plant proteins are inferior to animal proteins.

Plant protein is low quality, and you are missing alot of micronutrients in your vegan diet. You can still do it, but you need to take alot of supplements and eat alot more protein. Google says 100g of tofu has 8g of protein, but thats closer to 4g of usable protein cause the PDCAAS is 0.56. Milk protein has a score of 1.0 and is an ideal protein.

Beyond that, the low protein per calorie of most vegan foods makes getting enough protein when cutting nearly impossible.
