What happens to the muscle gained from steroids after you stop taking them, assuming diet and exercise stay the same?

Why not just take the roids and then stop after a year if you keep more than 50% of the muscle?
Why keep taking the roids that will make you go bald, make you sterile and potentially kill you sooner or later?

I know you do lose muscle but your androgen receptors are permanently changed. Idr how it was described but it is beneficial where some sports leagues considered banning people for life who used steroids even once but stopped because then there probably wouldnt be any sports leagues anymore

Probably for psychological reasons. F to M troons probably feel more confident and energetic due to the hormones and don't want to lose that. If you have body dysmorphia this only compounds the reason to stay on it forever.

You lose it all when you stop. That's why you have to keep taking em.

is this always the case? i know its the case with TRT, but there must be exceptions.

        Yes, always

I'm pretty sure the amount of nuclei in your muscles in permanently increased so the potential for strength and size is permanently increased. But you also have to deal with 12 year old girl levels of testosterone when your off, gyno, small balls, mood swings, acne, heart problems (this is where the meme guys who have lots of muscles gas out quickly), etc. Unless you are low T or near your max potential and wanna be a gymbro for life then they are not worth it

If that was true, you'd be able to have a roided physique if you only roided once, which is not the case. Think of roids as a boost that gives +5 to all stats past a level cap. You could wear super duper cool armor and weapons with it, but once it wears off you can't anymore.

No, the other guy is right. They were considering lifetime bans from sports for roid usage because even after roiders lose their gains from quitting their cycle, they permanently have benefits to strength and muscle progression, even continuing as an ex-roid "natty"

No, you lose muscle until reach a level your body can sustain naturally. Which will be higher because you have more nuclei

Again, if that was true, you'd be able to achieve a roided physique after roiding only once, which doesn't happen.

There's no such thing as a "roided" physique. You can roid to gain a physique that looks natty but is 10-20% stronger. Or you can roid to gain a Hollywood physique with 1/10th the effort of natties.

You can, what do you think athletes and actors do? Athletes commonly cycle in their off-season, then quit roids going into competition so they pass drug tests.

I have no idea, but I've never needed to know, since I'm natty. Everything just works and I keep my muscle.

Low dose gear is good for you and maintains gains, when you get your goal physique you can just stay on a small dose of test for the rest of your life while doing moderate intensity workouts twice a week to keep all gains.
