1pl8 or 60lb dumbbells
If you're serious about working out I'd say 185lbs for benching and 75lbs for dumbbells is the bare minimum for reasonable. Obviously continue to strive for heavier weight and don't get complacent
Maybe where your from. Here in Australia most 16-20 year olds peak out at about 3pl8. Most guys in my gym are hitting 2pl8 in their first couple weeks of training.
Imagine being this delusional, have you even stepped foot in a commercial gym?
Again, it's very common here. I've seen 14 year olds putting it up for a few reps on the Smith machine.
>Most guys in my gym are hitting 2pl8 in their first couple weeks of training.
weeelllll, I did but I did push ups + variations + weighted before. If you don´t have an athletic background, many guys struggle to hit that weight
Yeah I can relate to this. Most our men have burly builds and detrained will rep 2pl8 without an issue. I think it's the Americans that struggle with 1pl8 anon.

Have literally NEVER met a physically impressive Australian. Every single one was an arrogant low class dickhead though so your posts don’t surprise me. Easily the worst nationality on earth

Well today's your lucky day anon. You've had the privilege of posting amongst two of them. Now, back to your shift at Amazon. You've got to earn those freedoms.

I'm not surprised they don't let your kind in our country otherwise you could have met this absolute specimen

Shocked it isn't higher considering gravity is literally pulling the weight off your chest
so what the fuck is your point, the average guy could bench 4pl8s if he trained like what does that have to do with anything you're so fucking retarded
No the average man definitely couldn’t bench 405 without roids. OP is asking what a reasonable bench number is. Taking into account people who literally don’t bench for such a question is goddamn retarded. It’s like saying 2 pull-ups is a reasonable amount of pullups because the average American can’t do a single pull-up.
2 pull ups is reasonable compared to the American population. 2 pull ups is unreasonable compared to the American population that workouts. See how the extra detail changes things? Kind of like op's original question and then the retard poster including training, you dumbass

Depends on your height and weight. For most people if they can bench their weight 1RM, they are in the 50%tile of strength for the average man.
If you can bench your weight for reps of 8 you are doing pretty good. 1.5 your weight for reps is top 10% of men. Double your weight is the natty 1 rep max for most men.
Most untrained men struggle with 40kg at first but quickly are able to do 60kg (1pl8) through linear progression.
Sometimes they can push linear progression all to way up to 80kg. But usually it takes a bit longer to reach it.
>9000
80kg bench is pretty reasonable.
Every man should be able to do AT LEAST one rep

Are you talking for reps or max
I'm talking at least 1 set of 5
3pl8s.
I'd say 90% of the male population could rep 2pl8 for 5x reps. The reason most don't is because they're unfamiliar with the motion and don't train.
With that being said, anything over 2.5pl8 is above average I guess.
You're a complete idiot if you think 90% of men can bench 2pl8.

Of course 2 pla8 is easy for you southern hemisphere assholes, but up here we have to actually work against gravity.
Bullshit
Wait can you retards not read? He's not saying 90% of males can bench 2pl8 but that they could
Go back to whatever shithole country you come from. He’s talking about what the average man could do if he trained.

it's probably a delusional dyel, load a bar with 0.5pl8 and it will humble him real quick
Imagine being this delusional, have you even stepped foot in a commercial gym?
>t. retard
this. I got a personal trainer and he showed me form and technique for a week. after that my bench exploded up to 235 within the following week
It's amazing how many people misread this post and completely spreged out. Well played, very subtle anon.
>4 replies before yours
That's amazing?
Maybe he is just a newfag
what kind of roided up gym do you go to
pre or post transition?
That is pretty reasonable for an adult male who doesn't lift.
We talk about 1/2/3/4 for a reason. An adult male of average height and healthy weight is weak unless he can do 2pl8.
When everyone says 1/2/3/4, is that for a certain amount of reps + sets or does it refer to 1RM?
Yes.
>ugly retard playing with best friend in between bench presses
Literally me but it's a dog instead of a cat
Is my bench press any good? I can bench 110 kg [email protected]
I'm 75 kg and 172cm(7'7'')
Yeah I'd say thats a pretty good bench.
>172cm(7'7'')
???
obv he meant 5'7"
How the fuck do you fuck up from a 5 to a 7
1pl8 first week
2pl8 first month
3pl8 first year
seems reasonable
If you can't press your bodyweight (minimum) you should seriously start thinking about transitioning
This is ironic demoralization posting pretending to be severe and serious lifting advice. Pay him no heed. Everyone has to start somewhere.
2pl8 for a gym freak and 1pl8 for a normal person.

Based plannet fitness poster. Careful with 1pl8, they will autoban if you rep for more than 3x.
you should be able to bench above your bodyweight even relatively untrained
australian shitposting used to be good

I'm a fat manlet (90kg, around 5'8) and after 2 months of benching I managed 1.5 pl8s (70 kilos). Are these solid numbers?
